Hi @freddy7 . If you apply it globally on the MX then you’re limited to a single rule and are therefore restricting all networks. Whereby if you apply on the MR’s you could have different policies per SSID.

Hi @freddy7 @I believe for the sake of fairness for all users you should restrict bandwidth per user . Simple config to apply as you don’t then have to start applying restrictions per application etc https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Firewall_and_Traffic_Shaping/Traffic_and_Bandwidth_Shaping

Hi @ปลาวาฬทราย Do you have access to your Meraki Dashboard and are you an Admin? If so you can find who other admins are org inventory under Organisation > Configure > Administrators/Inventory

Hi @RJAC Have you cHacked your firewall settings for the ssid Wireless > Configure > Firewalling and Traffic Shaping Theres a setting there that blocks access to the wired LAN. This could be stopping DNS lookups and therefore internet access

Hi @RJAC When on the guest network can you ping your DNS servers? Have you done a PING from your core switch from the Guest SSID VLAN SVI out to the Internet? Do you get the same result when wired?

A customer of ours was looking to secure both staff and personal devices whilst connecting back into the school network. Their original solution for remote access once Covid struck was to connect back using Teamviewer. Once we got wind of this we had an MX, Meraki Systems Manager and Cisco Umbrella deployed within a view days. On top of this we also deployed a Cisco phone client so the school could continue to make and receive calls whilst at home. A happy and secure customer.

Tough one. I guess you’ve already relayed your concerns that anything above 4Gbps is a no go as they simply wouldn’t get the throughput? Quite rightly I wouldn’t turn off the security functionality either as that would expose your internal network. If you split the HA pair you’ll also require a further MX450 license as only a single one is needed in HA. Are all users connecting wirelessly? Is this network connected to the main Uni campus network? Could you turn off the firewall functionality and move this onto the AP’s? https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Firewall_and_Traffic_Shaping/MR_Firewall_Rules You’d get your desired throughput, don’t need to buy an additional MX license and you keep some security in place. just my thought process at the moment...
