Hi Andy, Everyone’s paths, experiences, circumstances etc will be different but I cut my teeth in the commercial world with work experience. I found a local company that would allow me to shadow their engineers and work in their labs for a number of weeks. At the end they gave me a job offer but as previously mentioned everyone’s circumstances are different. Labs, willingness to learn new topics and a solid work ethic are all you need.
