Thank you for your all replies. I waited to see more members join us, but it seems it's not an interesting topic. The left side of the photo shows the same design as we currently have and from your responses we go to right side network design on the photo, all switches will be connected to distribution 32P switch and then it connects to the MX and assign priority bridge 4096 to 32Port switch as lowest then we go higher depends on switch location in the network. Hope Meraki experts take a look at this topic and share their thought with us What I brought in the pic is just an example, but I have seen similar to these kind of set up in several companies. Questions: However this type of setup works. What is the best practice of connecting the switches and MX? I mean, it’s not a better idea if we connect MX to MS32P (distribution switch) then connect all department to MS32P. If we follow this setup (in the picture) what Bridge Priorities should we assign to the switches? I believe we should use MX only between distribution switch and ISP router. If it’s correct, so why MX designed with may Ethernet ports! However these questions might seem silly, but your answers will help a lot of people. So, please contribute. Thank you all

Submitted I wish they make a survey specifically about Meraki Dashboard, too. That kind of survey that let people to save it in the middle of the way and came back, continue where they left off. Also, there should be a box for each question for the explanation. I'm pretty sure most members have something to say. Thanks to Meraki Community

I don't know where should I take the question to. I have received several emails from same person who introduces himself as Meraki AM for South GA and north FL. It's strange because I've never received an email from Meraki people unless I opened a case with them. Is there anywhere over Meraki organization that I can verify the email address with them? Thank you

The thing is if you connection problem (layer 1), sometimes cable test or rebooting the device help. I have had the experience. But in my cases I had a serious connection issues.

As I have tested that on 2 of my APs so far, I found that we have connection issue on pair 3 and/or 4. I resolved the issues and the link speed changed from 100Mbit to 1000Mbit / 1Gbit. then the alerts for the two APs have gone. We had the link speed up to 100Mbit before, but Meraki never alerted us for that. It seems Meraki is stepping up to introduce higher than 1Gbit link speed.

I have checked that on the AP's local configuration (through my.meraki.com) and Meraki dashboard setting, but I didn't see any where I can change link speed. The only setting I'm able to change is on switch port setting. I will be happy if anybody shares their info where we can have access to the setting @TBHPTL mentioned.

In my case the ports on the switches are set to auto negotiation. They passed 1 Gigabit and now they are passing 100 Megabit. I restart one of the APs and it didn't help. The issue is happening on different locations (of course different switches, too). Now, I have the alert on 8 APs. It seems the issue is spreading.

Hello everyone, I receive a message on Alert Hub that says "Access point has an ethernet negotiation failure" and it shows me the APs name related to this error message. My APs are all MR33, but only 4 APs are added to this error message. Anybody has had the same issue? Any comments? Thank you

Thank you for your reply. I have done that before reporting it, and it didn't help. It seems the my Firefox browser is making the issue. I mean, specifically this Firefox that is installed on my local machine. I've tried learning.meraki.net on Chrome browser and another machine Firefox, and they worked just fine. Also, if I open my local machine Firefox in the Private browsing, learning.meraki.net works fine, no issues. If any tests you or the investigation team would like me to do, please message me. Hello everyone, I have been promoted to Network Admin position lately in a medical company. I am almost new to Cisco Meraki priceless Community and its Dashboard. The company I started working with, had high rate of STP topology changes over its entire network and some other issues, mostly bad setup on dashboard. So far, we fixed have 90 percent of the issues and still hanging in there (fun life). I hope by joining the community, I learn from the other members and will be happy to share my little knowledge with you, all. I spend my free-time, in the soccer field playing soccer with friends.
