Hi Everyone.    I thought I would post back letting you know this is resolved. Thanks for everyone who looked at this issue and took the time to respond.    I spent alot of time running iperf tests between switches, hosts etc, and was seeing the correct speed between hosts. Even on the 425 I was getting the full 10gbps speeds between hosts. I couldn't directly test from the 425 to MX. However, I plugged directly into the MX and got full speeds, but couldn't behind the 425. I went through every setting for MX,MS,MR,MV etc and I mean EVERYTHING. I found a QoS rule for Vlan 800 (not my vlan I was testing from) changing to EF. All shaping was off, all other QoS was off. I removed that rule on the 425 and everything went back to normal. I have no idea why this was happening. I gave this info to TAC and if they find RCA I will let everyone know.    Thanks again for everyone's suggestions.  ... View more

Thank you Alex,   Couple questions..   I have checked the dashboard and the only DHCP servers seen are coming from our SonicWall which at present is correct.     Item 4:  Are you suggesting that I create separate subnets for certain device types to segment the network?  I did create a new subnet just for the Meraki devices.     Item 5:  Before I enable DAI do I need to first identify each printer port and mark them as trusted?  I'm assuming I should also trust all of the uplink ports as well between the switches?  What would happen if I enable DAI before I mark any ports as trusted? ... Hi @AxL1971 ,   The two most common causes are, people are moving about in one area. Say a Presentation. The other situation is when the Minimum bit rate & SNR need adjusting for the local environment. The Wireless client makes the decision which AP it associates to. To ensure you have a good balance between coverage and overlap. I already use a VLAN for the SSID and was just dissapointed to find Meraki NAT (with an isolated 10.0.0.0/8 network for each client), that you can use on APs, is not available for MX. ... View more

What FW version you are using today in your APs?  we have changed mechanism to count the packet loss in R30.  previously in R29, we only count the data plane retry rate, then in R30, it added management and control frame miss such as beacon miss.  especially since beacon needs to be sent in every 102ms, if over the air is congested, Beacon might be missed because AP can't send beacon due to over the air energy level (remember Wi-Fi is built on the principal of avoiding collision, (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection) )  Having said that,  We brought back r29 methodology, count only data pkt retry as pkt loss. in the latest R31.x firmware. so if you update their FW to the latest R31.1.7 (currently stable release) your pkt loss rate will be reduced.  ... Update:   This seems to be a specific usecase, and only applies to "VPN concentrator" mode MX's with both internal/mpls as public connectivity. When it is a "VPN concentrator" to "VPN conecentrator" the VPN registry log shows always just the public "peer_contact" IP, even when the tunnel  is set up over private IP:   VPN tunnel connectivity change vpn_type: site-to-site, peer_contact: 217.x.x.x:42111, connectivity: true       When it is a spoke hub connection the VPN registry log shows the correct "peer_contact" as an private IP. Hi @MichaelN ,   "Uplink packet loss and latency for this location is around 10-20ms, and 1-2%."   Packet loss at 1-2 % may not seem much. But with TCP it is a lot. I would focus here on eliminating the Uplink packet loss. Try changing cables, checked Traffic Shaping with ISP. Run ping tests to various end points (Public DNS Servers, ISP Gateway & DNS, any popular Internet site of choice). This will give you a good benchmark to confirm if the 1-2% is consistent or transient. ... View more

To assign an SSID to a VLAN with a specific IP range, you will have to config the SSID in bridge mode, not the default NAT mode. Tag the relevant APs with the correct VLAN ID, and make sure your trunked switch ports for those APs allow the new VLAN, too. That one tripped me up. ... View more
