We have a button automation set up to take snapshots and then send an email notification. Randomly, the snapshot will no longer be included in the email. It happens maybe once a month and I'm not sure how to resolve it other than rebooting everything. Not sure if the reboot fixes it or it just starts working the next day. Because of that, I added some text contacts as well and the text always contains the image even when the email doesn't. Any ideas?

Will an MT30 button connect to an MV22 camera? My cameras are on a separate meraki network so the button currently has no access point to connect to. If I put my button on the wifi network then it can't access the camera to take a snapshot.

It's a large TV in a small lobby so I can't really do that without it covering up the people walking by. Seems odd that the activity zone and people detection do not work at all.

I have motion alerts set up on an MV22 on 4.16. There is a TV on the wall outside of the area of interest. There are no people on the tv. Despite this, we still get spammed all day with motion alerts when the tv is on. Alerting schedule - Always duration trigger 6 seconds sensitivity 70 image recap enabled alert only on people detection enabled area of interest enabled detection model Body default I've tried the other detection model, making the area of interest farther from the tv, lowering the sensitivity, etc. but the alerts do not stop. This has happened with several other firmware releases so it's been problem for a long time. We usually just keep the tv off but why aren't the above settings working? By the way, sometimes I have to hit save 3 times to get settings to save on the portal. It seems like it saves but then I go back in and the setting is not changed.

That would make sense then. One of the devices I was looking at was an old idrac that had been connected for months but meraki said 0 clients. Could be that it hadn't reached out to the net at all. Thanks

Not all but a lot of my switch ports are showing Current clients 0 even though I know for a fact that client(s) are connected to the particular ports. The port shows traffic flow during the time frame. Even If I change to for the last month, still says 0 clients. What would cause this?

I had the same issue with Meraki branded 1GB SFP modules. I did get it in eventually but I had to try a few times and press very hard. The proline brand is much cheaper and actually goes in easier on the MS425. However, don't install proline module in an MS225 as I'm not able to get them out without tools. I think a new connector needs to be invented. It's nightmarish dealing with these.

@Dartanian14 What browser extension? I currently have to go through the O365 portal to login. Meraki should enable SAML on their own login page like most other SAML integrated apps I've set up.

Ran into the same issue. I finished setting up SAML with Azure and couldn't figure out how to login lol. It appears they didn't add that final step to the instructions. This is the first time I've had to go through Office 365 to log into one of my SAML configured apps. Does Cisco SecureX require additional licenses?

Just found some more info regarding other brands and stacking two switches with one cable. My two, two switch stacks have been up for over a year after software upgrades and several reboots, still no issue in the dashboard. I don't mind adding a second cable to the switches that have the dedicated stack ports on the back just to be safe though. However, I also have a pair of MS425-16 and if I use both the 40GB/s ports for stacking, then I lose the 40GB/S uplinks to my other building.

It still doesn't make much sense. On the firmware upgrades page, MS12.28.1 is listed as the latest stable firmware yet I get a warning for running this version. The 14.xx versions have been being released rapidly. If I upgraded, I'd go to 14.29 which came out Aug 30 or about 10 days ago. Not sure which is the safer bet at this point.

My switches are on "latest stable 12.28.1". Everything else is listed as a release candidate or beta so they shouldn't give a warning until there is another stable release. I guess we either take our chances on the very old latest stable with known security holes and bugs or try out the release candidate with fixes for those holes and bugs but could contain unknown holes and bugs.

Should I really be getting this switch firmware warning: "Newer stable major firmware or newer minor beta firmware is available that may contain security fixes, new features, and performance improvements. We recommend that you upgrade to the latest stable or latest beta firmware version." My switches are on the latest stable 12.28.1 firmware. Do they really recommend to upgrade to a "stable release candidate" or "Beta" instead of the current stable release? At time of writing, that would be 14.29.

So if I have 5 vlans, how do I make sure clients on different vlans can't communicate with each other? Seems like you could go with deny rules or add a deny any at the bottom, then go with allow rules.

I also wasn't sure if I needed two cables for my stacks of two switches so I went with one cable and it works perfectly fine. No errors in the dashboard or anything. My stacks are of two MS225 and two MS250 switches. I guess I should order the 2nd cable?

Yes, the port is correct. I just wanted to make sure the rule is correct because most of the examples are about blocking traffic between networks but I'm trying to block workstations from using mDNS within the vlan in this example. I already don't allow traffic between VLANs through my firewall. So it would just be the switch that I'm concerned about.

I just want to verify that this will block mdns within vlan 1? Also, I'm surprised the default rule is permit Any Any. I have several vlans for example vlan 1 and guest vlan 100. I wouldn't want traffic between them so do I need to add a Deny rule? My vlans are all set up on my firewall.
