Re: VPN Subnet Translation

Hello James,   Each site should be trying to reach out to the other side's translated address. So, if you have translated 10.10.10.0/24 to 192.168.10.0/24, the last octet will remain the same for any client. For example, 10.10.10.200 will be 192.168.10.200. Please try this and let me know if you are still unable to get across on the VPN tunnel.    There may be a bigger routing issue at stake here. I am only recommending this for the traffic on those VLANs could traverse the VPN tunnel.    Regards, Seshu  Meraki Team ... View more

Hello @Chris-8it    The operator is selected automatically based on the signal quality when a multi-sim is being used. Unfortunately, the selection is not manual. So, please submit a feature request for manual selection and let me know if you have an open case with Meraki Support if you see the MG not connecting to the best signal. Support can help you investigate and troubleshoot the issue at hand.    Let me know if you have any questions.   Regards, Meraki Team ... View more

Hello @Chris-8it    I apologize for the trouble and confusion. The MG cellular gateway does support multiple carriers but will only connect to one carrier at time since there is only one SIM tray. The MG Selects the best network from all the available ones for the MVNO and there is no option to manually select the network on an MG with a multi-sim. All the supported bands are listed here in this datasheet.   If there is a specific MG with a multi-sim having issues connecting to a network in the devices you manage, please let me know the details or open a case with Meraki Support and we will help you troubleshoot the issue and get to the bottom of it. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.    Regards, Meraki Team ... View more

Hello @RS2020    The option to receive RF Data in realtime with APIs with a feature request and it is not available yet. Please submit a request using the Make a Wish button for the same. RF Spectrum shows the Utilization of the channel on which an AP is operating and the AP's RF Tab would show the utilization on all the channels which that AP is sensing around it.    Please let me know if you have any other questions.   Regards, Meraki Team ... Hello @Kamome    Are you talking about the content filtering categories or the Layer 7 Firewall Categories or Traffic shaping categories? Please provide some more detail about what you mean by SD-WAN Categories. Generally, to find a category to which a website or webapp belongs to, go to Security SD WAN -> Content Filtering -> URL Lookup tool and enter the url there (example apple.com, windowsupdate.com, ...). This will give the category under which a certain traffic type would fall.    Let me know if you have any questions please. I can give more details if you could be more specific.    Regards, Seshu  Meraki Team ... View more

Hello @Jamest201    Since you have the same Subnet declared on 2 sites, the VPN Subnet Translation has to be done on both sides of the VPN tunnel to be able to enable that VLAN over VPN. Please try that and let me know if you see any issues.   Regards, Seshu Meraki Team ... View more

I have checked internally and dont see any specific updates or ETA on if and when this feature would be available on the MX Platform. Hello @mhadley    Assuming that you have the Z3 configured for VPN full tunnel to one of your Hub MXs, the traffic from the Users would not be hitting L3 firewall rules on the MX as it will traverse VPN due to full tunnel. That is probably why the users are able to access other IPs on your LAN. For traffic across VPN, go ahead and configure the Outbound VPN Firewall rules in the Security & SD WAN -> Site to Site VPN page. Please configure the rules keeping in mind that the S2S VPN rules are applicable Organization Wide. So, please configure the Deny for specific Source subnets inorder to avoid any unexpected issues.    Please let me know if you have any further questions. I will be glad to assist you.   Regards, Meraki Team   ... View more

Hello @IamSam    The vMX100 firmware upgrades are unlike regular physical MX firmware upgrades. vMX100s cannot run firmware lower than 14.18. For any version 14.18 or above, you can schedule upgrade like a normal MX and it will upgrade successfully.    If you have a  vMX network running any firmware below 14-18, the vMX will continue to work just fine. Let me know if you have any further questions. Regards, Meraki Team ... View more

Hello @BreckanM    Good catch. Thank you for the details about the  getNetworkVlansEnabled() and getNetworkVlans().   There are two separate issues where the getNetworkVlans() is returning the VLANs when the MX is in Passthrough mode. This sounds like a bug and I would recommend opening a case with Meraki Support so that we can submit a bug report. Secondly, the script crashing due to getNetworkVlans() returning VLANs should be handled in the script itself so that it doesn't crash. Unfortunately, we provide the SDK/API Endpoints for you to use and we can only troubleshoot the bugs in these methods or end points.   Let me know if you have any questions.   Regards, Meraki Team ... Hello @Nik1    You can just remove the device from the dashboard network and leave it claimed in the Org. You can claim the device again in another org after removing it from the network. Claiming in multiple orgs is allowed as long as the device is not in any network. After you add the device to a network in one of the orgs, the device will be automatically unclaimed from all the other orgs.    Let me know if you have any questions.   Regards, Meraki Team ... Hello @NeilLatham    The MG21 is designed to remain stationary. W e should not expect it to be roaming on other networks. There is no option to manually enable or disable roaming on the MG21. Please go ahead and submit a feature request by clicking "Make a wish" button on the dashboard.    To check the status of the connection on an MG21 in your network, please reach out to Meraki Support and we can confirm the network status.   Let me know if you have any questions.   Regards, Meraki Team ...
