Local DNS server is a much better option than setting up each device escpeically if you have a heap to do most DNS services allow you to import records.

@PacerX When you say the switch is no longer connected do you mean you have just phsyically unplugged it or have you actually removed it from the network using the inventory page on your dashboard?

Can you confirm the following. 1. Radio setting 2.4 / 5Ghz or both? 2. Authentication method - Radius, PSK? 3. Encryption method Association errors usually mean that device isn't connecting to the network properly or something is stopping it before it can authenticate . Can you post a screenshot of the SSID settings blurry any confidential info if neeed.

BYOD in a corporate environment is a pain, if your company can afford it I would supply fully managed devices. Make config and app rollout much easier in the long run.

A generic status page would be good for users that cannot access their dahsboard due to an outage and that are not part of the community. i.e. status.meraki.com But thanks for having this info listed in the community, hopefully it will stop the duplicate posts whenever there is an issue.

You shouldn't be using anything lower than Cat5e if you want gigabit speeds. Ideally you should be using Cat6a I personally wouldn't be using anything lower than Cat6. Just remember as well as your structured cabling being a specific type your patch leads need to match it as well. I check any cable before I use it and if it's lower than cat6 it gets recycled.

Does the printer have any IP filters enabled on it? If you plug into the printer directly can you access it? (you might need to setup a local DHCP serivce to do this.)

It turns out that even if you delete devices from your network but they are still loaded into your DEP then they are still technically in Meraki so will show in any settings profiles they were scoped to before they were deleted. Once you remove them from your DEP (only do this if you are disposing obviously) they they disapear from Meraki. The other alternative is remove any tagging from devices before you delete them. To me this just seems like bad programming but what can you do.

I have checked to documentation and it makes no mention of having to un-scope devices. Log in to Dashboard, and select the appropriate SM network. Navigate to Systems manager > Monitor > Devices Mark the checkbox for each device to remove. At the top of the Client list, select Delete > Remove from Network.

@kevinmodonnell You have you answer but just FYI POE is an industry standard just like Wifi, Radius etc. Meraki doesn't care if you mix their hardware with other equipment.

If you have simply changed to VLAN tagging on the port the client is connected to and have not physically moved the switch port its plugged into then you will need to renew the DHCP lease on the client itself. Easiest way would be the restart the device.
