As people start to close out the year and finish up their last bit of maintenances ( Me 🙂 ). I wanted to take the time to reflect on a question that I was asked a few times from @AmyReyes or her group. "How is the forums?" or "Does the forums help you in any way?" so I want to share some thoughts as I it a point this to jump in with two feet to be able to give a real honest answer on this two questions. Message Boards: As a whole the boards themselves are very responsive overall easy to navigate and is stable. I like that Cisco/Meraki continues to tweak and push the functions of the boards forward and not just sit on some version that was released X amount of years ago so that is always a good thing in my eyes. The one con I have to hit the boars with is the lack of a "Dark mode". Most of my UIs are set to some version of dark mode due to the time I spend in front of the screen today and the Meraki forums are the only UI I have that is locked to "Light mode". Support: The support here has been amazing from so many different avenues, users helping users, Meraki employees help users, Users helping Meraki, and even user notifications on platform outages. I've seen it all here and it honestly is amazing to see. What makes support here different than other boards, at least for me is one quality of the help from when a question is asked. In other boards I've seen questions asked and the following posts be some snarky remark or some answer that just wasn't helpful. Two, just the amount of chatter that takes place on the boards. I have seen some boards feel like a ghost town with posts coming every few days and responses coming days to weeks later. In those cases the boards have no value and should be looked at by that company. People: THIS is the secret sauce to the Meraki forums. When I was first interviewed or sent a poll I hadn't taken the time to really jump into any of the posts or conversations, but now that I have I have to say I love it. I've gotten to know that some guys need to be on pay role for Cisco as much help as they give here, the mods are really active and do a great job with keeping the forums going in the right direction, and everyone here is very respectful, and all of this is free. This being said I really have to send kudos out to some of the community superstars that I've seen. @PhilipDAth @RaphaelL @cmr @KarstenI @AmyReyes @CarolineS I really want to thank you for making this year a great Meraki year for me and you have added value to my perception of the Meraki product. To new and returning forum members this tool is only as good as you make it and the more you use it the better it can be. Side note I really need to get my personal forum account and business account merged in some way :D. Happy Holidays everyone!!!

I want to bump this old post so I don't have to create a new one. I have been actively fighting this issue in the shadows for the past 18 months and got no where. I know Meraki states that we can create a second org and apply the devices to that org but I have found the following issues. MX's / Z require a new site per 2 devices (PIN4). Meraki support is giving mixed answers on this topic. Some state if you claim the device then your equipment is locked other support reps will quote the KB. I also have seen the sales team have mixed messaging on this topic as well. The disabled network email warning could cause a lot of unneeded questions within a company when using the inventory network. For companies that do not use APIs this process causes additional steps with inventory management by having to add or remove devices from one org to another. Installation documentation does not fully disclose the inventory process so there is an opportunity For Meraki if a percentage of your customer base is unaware of this "requirement" they are left open to having their equipment taken from right under them, then having to go through support or sale to try to recover the equipment. This process hurts the customer from a time and frustration point of view, and Meraki from a customer perception and relation. I will say other vendors that have similar systems will lock the equipment once the equipment is claimed, yet Meraki finds this solution to be better in some way.. I'm open to seeing that vision if there is a gain for me the customer. Sorry for the small vent, but just wanted to float this out again.

Important note Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2 MRs support - This version and subsequent MR 31.x.x are only supported on 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) and newer MR models. 802.11ac Wave 2 and older products will not upgrade if they are in networks configured for MR 31.x.x versions, and thus, the new features will not be available. The bug fixes listed below will also not apply to Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2 and older MRs. (https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Other_Topics/Cisco_Meraki_MR_Firmware_Restrictions_Overview_and_FAQ) Includes support for Wi-Fi7 APs (https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/MR_Overview_and_Specifications/CW9176I_%2F%2F_CW9176D1_Datasheet, https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/MR_Overview_and_Specifications/CW9178_Datasheet) Bug fixes General stability and performance improvements Potential crash loops for 6GHz in non-US regulatory domains (Wi-Fi 6E APs) CW916X APs are requesting 40W PoE power when USB is disabled Known issues Sporadic packet loss & instability on Layer 3 roaming & Teleworker VPN SSID's (Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E APs)

Small update on this issue. FW 18.211.4 was stable and did not have the reboot issue. I've updated the MX to 19.1.6 and so far the issue hasn't returned.

After rolling back to 18.211.4 things have stabilized again. Next steps is to try 19.1.4 again and see if the issues return. Guess it would help if I gave some additional information on the setup a well. Topology ISP 1 (1G) - ISP 2 (1G) --> MX75 --> L3 VLAN --> Unifi 10GB switch L3 VLAN --> Multiple VLANs over multiple ports --> MR 44 1 - MR 44 2 --> Clients wired - Wireless.

Just an open topic to owners of the MX75 router. I noticed that my MX75 would randomly stop passing traffic and at times would randomly reboot on its own. There is no real constant with this issue as its happened over multiple firmware releases, cable replacements, and UPSs updates. I was on the phone with support today about this issue and he stated there have been reports of MS75 owners having random issues the unit have two or three causes they are looking into. I'm ok with this (to a point), but I hadn't seen any buzz on the forums about this so I am just opening this topic to see if anyone else is having this issue as well, and if it was fixed what fixed it for you?

This may or may not help you, but I was playing around with this issue last night. In my home I have two Xboxes and a PS5. I had all the ports setup including the alternate ports for my second Xbox and I was getting strict NAT or Type 3. Now for giggles I went into the traffic shaping and told the MX to prefer WAN 1 and all devices either went to open or type 2. I also tried setting the rule to WAN 2 and once again the issue was in a good state. @PhilipDAth I'll give your link a read so thanks for sharing.

Thanks for responding.. I had a feeling that was the case. Open wish list for me having that page with a user vote option would be great so the community would have the ability to vote what our needs are. Don't get me wrong this single is would be rated as a low, but our feels of what the rating are as a collective view could be wrong. Either way I do thank you for taking the time to share this info and listen to my random thoughts.

@Ryan_Miles glad you hopped on.. Can you answer the question of a known issues page? These types of things would be very helpful to know before open a ticket, sending feedback, posting or a forum, and in my case having my manager ask me this question and I not have a resource to reference.

Today I was working with my manager and we noticed that all the devices that was connecting to Z3 and Z4 were showing up as "wired" devices even though some of the devices where wireless. When I switched back the the old UI the connection state showed up correctly. Has anyone else seen this issue?

With the release of the new Wifi7 APs how many of us are looking to test them out, and if so what feature are you looking forward to, and lastly what unit are you coming from?

I will say the models was quick, informative, and wasn't boring. It also gave me the information I needed. The one question I have for the APs is what is holding you guys back from unifying 😉 the current 916x lineup?
