@Moxsan and @Lukme are you both using WPA3 ? Do you have the same issues when using an SSiD using WPA2 ? Don't know how that relates to DNS issues if at all but thought worth asking. So when you get the issue, you say you have to enter manual DNS settings - can you not resolve names then prior to having to do that ?

This may or may not help you, but I was playing around with this issue last night. In my home I have two Xboxes and a PS5. I had all the ports setup including the alternate ports for my second Xbox and I was getting strict NAT or Type 3. Now for giggles I went into the traffic shaping and told the MX to prefer WAN 1 and all devices either went to open or type 2. I also tried setting the rule to WAN 2 and once again the issue was in a good state. @PhilipDAth I'll give your link a read so thanks for sharing.

What you are really dealing with is that each client, the client alone, decides to which AP that it joins. There is no central coordination for Wi-Fi, it doesn't exist today. Each client is different. Each OEM has their own algorithm/ special sauce that is used to connect Wi-Fi. The AP has no say. It may make suggestions but the client makes the decision. What you can do is define what you want the network to do and then pick your most important least capable client and build your AP design around that devices abilities or lack of abilities. Trust the RRM unless you want to be endless tweaking each and every AP constantly.

For that you need to talk to a account manager or someone within Cisco Meraki. For the group policies you could also ask if you want to be included in that private beta if you have a testing network of course or an adventurous client 😉
