Do you have client balancing enabled? You don't have a lot of AP's, so they may be rejecting associations to maintain even load among the three per floor. Also, have you updated the drivers on Windows clients? I would not recommend changing the driver settings but make sure you are running the latest drivers from the WiFi adapter OEM if at all possible.

As far as I know, vMX is sized equivalent to the regular MX100 as @AjitKumar suggests. Given then, 250 concurrent client VPN sessions is what you should shoot for as a max.

While I have never tried this, I believe the MX will accept this config. I am curious what you're trying to achieve from this however as it doesn't sound like you'll really gain any availability from this setup.

@davidvan Wow - that is not the kind of comment anyone is looking for from a Meraki employee on the topic of IPv6. If all Meraki has to say is "Keep making wishes!", this is probably not the thread to come say that in. This is not what I have come to expect from Meraki and am really disappointed by this kind of commentary from an employee.

Are you saying that the machines are randomly shutting down because of SM? The errors you posted are extremely hard to read (screenshots would be more helpful), but they don't seem to be showing anything about a shutdown.

@PetterO Are your MX84's running in HA mode? See the below note from recent MX 14.XX firmware versions about the 84's causing loops. In conditions still under investigation a network loop may form when using MX84 appliances in some warm spare (HA) configurations

No, and I would not expect this to happen anytime soon (if ever). One of the big marketing points on MV is that you don't need a VMS.

@Wibster73 Firmware version 3.8 added "Adaptive bitrate HLS stream". It doesn't seem to help a ton with the latency however, which I think is just inherent to the use of HLS. Changing the quality of stored video also doesn't change the latency. For now, they will have to get used to the delay (which our users have in a K-12 environment).

You'll need to set the DNS suffix on the client side VPN config. The Meraki client VPN DHCP setup does not include the DNS suffix option. You'll also want to set up the split tunneling on the client side as well. Just include the routes available via the vMX as those which should be routed across the VPN tunnel on the clients.

@lfischer-gcpl I don't think you'd have an issue with the distance limitation then. You'd need to get CAT6 run along with the power/control cables in the shaft and then you'll have CAT6 at the car to mount the camera inside. Wireless is also another good idea from @jdsilva but isn't available in MV12's firmware just yet.

We haven't done so yet. I think the biggest issue you might encounter is the 300' CAT6 distance limitation depending on the number of floors the elevator travels plus the distance to your nearest IDF.

@lauraCanadaIT There is no way to customize the DHCP options for the client VPN subnet that I'm aware of. If you issue a mobile config profile to your iOS users to set up the VPN, perhaps you can supply the DNS suffix with that config.

The L3 roaming option is only needed if your clients are going to roam between different subnets. It sounds like you can make the wireless VLAN you'd like the clients to be in available at all of the AP's, so you can simply use regular bridge mode and tag the appropriate VLAN you'd like to use.

On a wireless client, go to my.meraki.com in a browser. How is the signal? How does the built in speed test work there? Look at the neighbor utilization at the bottom of the page and see if it looks okay.

I think your proposed solution will work well @CarolineS! There should definitely be some "value" to the solutions for the leaderboards as posting solutions is important, especially as the community grows and people come here to search for exact issues and their solutions. I do agree with @Mr_IT_Guy that sometimes the "solutions" selected by OP's are a bit dubious, but this isn't a big deal for now as the community is still rather small.

Is the fiber at least OM3 grade? Since you’re getting a link with SX at 100m but not SR, perhaps the fiber is OM1 or 2 which cannot support 10Gb at 100m length.
