@lahddah1    Well owner information can be set to however you like, that is easily importable through CSV files. I'm glad they have given us back some limited functionality like that.    They have also said they are working on implementing a fix to allow for Activation locks to be cleared from DEP enrolled device which would be nice, I'm tired of having to contact Apple when I should be clicking a button.    I hope they give us an option to set a name onto DEP enrolled devices, which they should be as we can make names match the dashboard through restrictions.    It was just INSANELY DISRESPECTFUL to us end users how the whole thing was implemented as there was no announcement of any kind it was just gone.   Hopefully with all of our venting they will be more considerate when making a massive work-flow affecting change and actually reach out to end users before making changes like this in the future. @Kevin_C @Noah_Salzman    You know the whole point of a MDM is to make people who administer the devices job easier. Right now with all of the undocumented and unannounced changes that have been made that is far from the case. Please stop making changes that make our jobs harder.    I have been a Meraki advocate since I got to my district and started using the product but it's getting harder and harder to keep justifying the cost. I don't know if in good conscience I can recommend staying with Meraki as our MDM especially when there are cheaper options.   It's starting to feel like you are losing touch with your customers and I'm getting to the point of I'd rather learn a new MDM that will listen and appreciate my feedback then wait to see what is next that makes my job harder from Cisco/Meraki. ... @Kevin_C    Thank you for communicating this with us, one of the huge issues about all of this is that there has been ZERO communication about this changing or even going away. This functionality just disappeared in the middle of the day with no warning at all.    Here's a thought, maybe reach out to your customer base ahead of time and ask how a MAJOR change like this will affect them. @andyb12321    Right now with how things are working with Meraki you will have to likely reset the device through iTunes which will enroll it back into Meraki which should allow you to clear lost mode.   If Meraki would hurry up and fix the other big issue they have created recently, removing non-enrolled devices from showing up within Meraki it would be great. @Noah_Salzman    I assume you see something like this if you try to manage the device now:     ... Does this cable go from the switch directly to the AP? If so, then I would suspect an issue with the AP.    Is this location polluted with other wireless near by? This can cause unexpected AP behavior.   Is the AP running the latest firmware as well?     ... View more

@djames    I would suspect either a cabling issue or an AP issue. The "easiest" method is to try another AP in that location and see if the issue occurs then you can focus on cabling.    Another possible cause could be an overloaded switch that does not have enough power to fulfill PoE requirements. ... @Boyan1,   What I have asked for is a setting we can manage via MDM just like they gave us for forcing WiFi always on.      We can skip if location services appear during setup but I want a setting like this for both Bluetooth and Location Services to where we can check a box and know that both are always on. ... @AndrewMorales I asked @Noah_Salzman about this myself and he said the command has been removed.   I believe that when you used this command it would cause some devices to remove the Meraki Management Profile all together rather than re-installing the profile.    About this time is when the profiles stopped mysteriously being removed when iPad changed networks and all of the issues with profiles within Meraki not behaving correctly appeared.   I'm still waiting for them to fix the profiles not being removed when a device changes networks as this is a very much needed functionality within Meraki. The response of profiles not being deleted or a device should be reset is not a valid response. ... View more

@cteaglesfan    Do you show any devices within System Manager - Manage - DEP?     If not something is not quite setup right. Here is the document from Meraki on using DEP.   https://documentation.meraki.com/SM/Device_Enrollment/Apple_Device_Enrollment_Program_(DEP)   I suspect there is either a breakdown in communication between Apple and Meraki or there is something with how the devices were purchased that is breaking the automated import into the Apple Business Manager portal which is not allowing the devices to flow into Meraki.   ... @PeterJames    #2 is the biggest one in my book and I hope it is day 1 supported by Meraki. One of the biggest issues I have as a school district is that either I allow students to remove Apps or not. We are currently forced to allow app removal because if you block this then students cannot remove web clips that they have saved onto the iPads or any unneeded apps from the iPad. @BlakeRichardson    As I school district I have asked for Apple to give us the ability to force location services on through a profile setting as they are our devices. I'm still waiting and don't expect we will ever get this option though we should.    I'm still waiting on the profile setting to force Bluetooth to always on, they gave us one for WiFi which was nice but we still need this one. I don't need a setting to restrict Bluetooth setting changes as that breaks the ability for students to pair devices. ... View more

Here's the problem though in a school district with multiple networks for each school, simply resetting an iPad because the student changes school is not a valid response.    Why should I have to reset an iPad to clear profiles that up until recently were automatically removed by Meraki when the device changed networks?   That makes no sense at all to me. @BCDCC    I would say you have two options with these iPads to get them functional. The easiest is to reset them and that will remove any previous Meraki information. The other option is to manually re-enroll them into Meraki via the add devices option within your network. ... View more
