We have a few sites setup like this. Two things to remember. Make sure you use the DNS server that you need for client VPN. Maybe the remote site or the site on other end. Or you can just add the DNS static on your DNS server to point to the other site. Second thing is to make sure you enable you client VPN subnet under the site to site settings.

If you have conduit then trying to get cabling to connect each location and then put an AP would be the best option. If you can get conduit to the third then you may need to look into setting up a Point to Point Mesh. Get an outdoor AP setup on both cabins, point them towards each other and look into creating a mesh. With some of the AP models you can then use the RJ45 port to pull an indoor AP. Might be best to have someone come do a site survey. It doesn't take much to interfere with a wireless point to point connection. Oh yea, and one thing that bit me in the past. Keep in mind trees grow. Don't be surprised if it works now and then a tree limb grows and messes things up in the future.

We've had a site to site with Meraki and an ASA. It can be a little flaky at times. It can work I'm sure and hopefully some of the firmware releases have fixed some of these issues. If you have the availability to go Meraki to Meraki that would be my suggestion.

Default network may be the best solution IMO. Other ways may leave the device unusable but security purposes changing the config is probably the best.

Welcome. We work with different clients that have fortigate, sonicwall, cisco ASA, and many others. There are a few minor limitations to Meraki that not all clients can use them. For the most part they can do anything else and they are much easier to manage.

Do they need to talk to other devices on the same subnet? You could play around with some deny statements and try to summarize the subnets.

Not really a question, just sharing an experience. Back in January we updated our firmware and had Meraki tech support change encryption standards so we could pass a PCI scan. Found out today that the change actually had broken client VPN. Meraki was using 256 and Windows was using 128. This would not allow the connection to work. Once tech support reverted the change on their end the connection began working again. Client VPN is now fixed and working. Now time to deal with the struggle of PCI.
