Anyone have any luck getting 802.1x to work through a non-meraki VPN tunnel. Meraki support says they can see if being sent with not reply. Cisco support says that are not seeing any traffic on 1812.

As said earlier you need a license. If you work for a partner then ask for licensing that you won't be reselling. Might get a price break.

I've been dealing with a similar issue. From what I've found if you are doing this through a site to site VPN with a Meraki MX on one end and a Cisco ASA on the other end then don't waste your time. DHCP relay won't work and I still can't get the APs to talk to the NPS on the other side of the tunnel.

Cool, so I think I have it configured. One last thing. So Comcast fiber will only give me one port on the modem to use. I have two thoughts on this: Get a unmanged Gbps swith to split it into two links so I can have an internet link on both MX devices. Another would be to use the current switches and create a VLAN for this traffic and then back to the MX from there. I think I like the first option mostly because it keeps the ISP link away from the interior network and seems less complex. Thoughts?

Okay, it's been a crazy couple weeks with my other network engineer leaving the company. I'm finally getting around to working on the HA failover setup. I think I have it mostly done. Quick question: The WAN IP will be your public IP while on the network correct? The VIP is just a failover IP. I also realized since I only have 1 ISP right now it looks like I only need two public IP addresses. One for the shared IP and the WAN IP.

Okay, finally got on a call with Cisco and Meraki support today on this issue. Since one side is Cisco and the other side is Meraki. DHCP relay is not supported by Meraki with a non-Meraki tunnel

I tried to create the VLAN on the MX and do DHCP relay but it won't support DHCP through a non-Meraki tunnel. Beginning to think this setup is not possible and that I may have to force the client to get an ASA.

I need to ensure that if failover occurs that the public IP does not change due to some NAT configured on the devices. Currently, I have 4 available public IPs but would like to figure out how to do it with as minimal as possible. We will be rolling this out to other locations soon and I don't think I will have that many available IPs at all locations.

Been taking on a few bigger projects since one of our Network Engineers took a position with another company. Not complaining, actually enjoying. Learning a lot. Project I have now is to swap a single MX80 with a setup of two MX100s in HA pair. Questions I have: I'm looking out laying out the IP addresses. Currently only one ISP involved. Am I correct that I need 4 public IPs for this setup? One IP for WAN1 which will be the networks public IP Two more Public IPs. One for each port on the MX devices. One for the Virtual IP that is shared between both MX devices. Do the IPs for the ports and for the virtual IP need to be public IPs? Thanks in advance for any help. So, I got a response today after doing some packet captures. He told me that no discoveries are coming from the clients. Then he let me know that since it is a Cisco product that he can't be of much help. Now, I have the VLAN for the SSIDs going both ways through the tunnel. If I remove them from going towards the Meraki side then it would let me add the VLANs and then just not respond to DHCP. Just not sure if this is what needs done and hard to test doing everything remotely. thoughts?

We've been using the Skyus devices with RJ45 connections but this is for a client that wants another failover. Both WAN ports are being used on their MX84 and they also want a USB failover. Verizon SIM has been our standard so far.

Anytime I try to create the VLAN on the Meraki end it gives me errors that it conflicts with VLANs in the tunnels which it should because it does conflict.

If I try to create these VLANs on this side of the tunnel I get an error that they conflict with the IPs on the other side. This is were my confusion is. I want the wireless clients on the Meraki side to use the same DHCP server on the Cisco side.
