I mean in terms of doing the NAT etc. If you have the modem in Bridge mode handing over a WAN IP to the MX then you have lightened the load as much as you can for the box

Ah I see SCC sorry for the confusion you get a tail off as an LC cable. Whats the connection on the ISP box? Could you adapt it from there?

Hi SCC, Are you sure? We have used an SFP to RJ-45 adapter in a similar fashion break out of a Cisco router into the back of an MX64 when we're separating out of the ISP's EDD. Perhaps the model linked requires SFP at both end but you can turn SFP to Base-T

Hello Will your ISP provide you a Base-T connection? You could use an SFP to Base-T transceiver so the connection through to the MX is Base-T As an example this little number

I have seen that before with cable modems.it could either be a useless modem or some form of block on the line. If its in routing mode does it still happen?

I do find occasionally that a refresh of the browser clears these things up. We had a stubborn org on one of the N servers where a logout and login was needed to reflect the change weirdly!

In that instance I would go for the MX as well. Its easier to manage and control the setup, from the kit you have it seems that its likely you won't doing a lot of switching? Will there be heavy inter VLAN traffic? Oh and welcome 🙂 I am normally the same, but this community is knowledgeable and friendly with a good sense of humour as well. So it can't be bad!

Its worth asking the question - I've just looked through some of our networks and although we only have a few places with Android devices. They are all appearing like yours So it might be expected behaviour

Thanks - we have a couple of clients who use Nest Camera's and suffer drop outs. Nest say to switch to 2.4 Ghz to solve the issue. It does solve the problem but we've never been able to to do it on the same SSID and have had to resort to creating another SSID

On a side note - is it possible to force a client on to 2.4Ghz if you have the SSID using Dual Band does anyone know?
