Re: MX WAN packer capture

It looks random. The led rainbows. It’s not the modem because I have a laptop connected to the modem and it doesn’t disconnect from internet, but the Meraki does. So now, 10:47 it’s showind WAN failed but the cellular modem backup is still in ready state instead of active.    If I unplug WAN cable and plug it back in the MX get Internet back within seconds.    I didnt look at the local status page.  ... I'm going to apply the group policy to a bunch of cameras and to some local computers that don't need internet access.   So for the layer 3 firewall I have   Deny Any Any Any Allow Any Any Any   This should work right?  It will block internet, but will permit all other networks. ... View more

When I go to the usb modem page it says I have -114 dBm   According to Meraki website, that's 5 bars, full signal strength   Signal Strength Indicator If a cellular modem is capable of reporting signal strength to the appliance it is attached to, the dashboard will display it in a count of one to five bars, corresponding with the following values:   Bars Signal Strength (dBm) 1 ≤ -102 2 -93 3 -87 4 -78 5  ≥ -40 ... I noticed that we're getting Source IP and/or VLAN mismatch on the event log.  Since then, our internet connection have been going offline.   I found out that we had a switch on the wrong sub net of 192.168.0.x, but the Meraki sub nets are on 172.16.0.x.  Since changing the switch to the Meraki sub net it looks like the connection improved.  But, according to Meraki, there's still another switch on the 192.168.0.x subnet, so I'm trying to locate where that would be.   Another weird thing I noticed is that, we have cellular as backup.  When the primary internet goes offline, the cellular takes over slowly (about 5 minutes), by that time, the primary comes up.  Just like if we were unplugging the primary cable from the Comcast modem and plugging back in.  I guess when the cellular takes over, it gives the Comcast modem enough time to reset? ... I noticed that when WAN 1 fails, it takes about 3 minutes for the cellular to fail over.  Is this normal behavior?  The cellular says "Ready", so shouldn't it take over instantly?   I called Mearki, and they said I should do a software update to see if it fixes the problems.   Also, when we were on cellular, I did a speed test and I was only getting 16 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up.  This is not even close to the 62 Mbps / 20 Mbps I was getting while the USB modem was connected to my laptop. ... I finally got the USB modem, and inserted into the USB port on the Mearki.  I don't have a WAN 2 connected.  Only WAN 1 and CELLULAR.  Why is the dashboard still showing WAN 2 and not the CELLULAR?   Also, I connected the USB modem to my laptop first, and did a speed test.  It's showing 62 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up.  I'm assuming I can expect the same speeds from Meraki if it's using cellular?     ...
