What is the difference between MS120-8-HW and MS120-8LP-HW switch.

MS120-8-HW = Unpowered model
MS120-8 LP includes 67W PoE/PoE+
MS120-8 FP includes 124W PoE/PoE+

In addition to that what is already answered:
My rule of thumb is "Never buy unpowered switches for the access-layer". Every time I bought a switch without PoE because I thoughts I don't need it, some time later I regretted it because it had been nice to have PoE.

Just to add to all the wonderful information already shared, the MS120-8 and MS120-8LP have external power supplies, whereas the MS120-8FP has an internal power supply. It’s just another thing to ponder as you make your decision.

I strongly agree with @KarstenI on all edge switches having POE. The cost difference is not worth the risk of putting in a device without it and having to replace it.
