Meraki MS-125 Unable to access Local Status Page

Hi Masters,

Just want to ask if somebody encountered the issue I am facing with MS125-48 switch.

Currently, I can't access the local status page so that I can setup proxy settings.

I've tried below.

* Laptop set to obtain DHCP.

1. Connect LAN cable to dedicated management at the back of the unit.

2. Check IP address - none (APIPA).

3. Tried to access switch.meraki.com ; my.meraki.com ; setup.meraki.com - all failed.

*Laptop set to 1.1.1.99/24

1. Connect LAN cable to dedicated management at the back of the unit.

2. Tried to access 1.1.1.100 - failed

3. Ping 1.1.1.100 - failed.

Together with this unit are stacked MS350-24X, the local status page pops up automatically upon connecting to management port so it's just the 3 x MS125-48 that I'm having trouble.

Any ideas?

TIA,

Mike

Did you try on a switch lan port, combined with static ip address on the client

There were a couple of Release/model combinations where the Management-port didn't work for the local status page. Have you also tried a LAN-port for this?

Hi @ww , @KarstenI ,

Thank you for your response.

Initially, I added and managed it in the Dashboard so I'm able to change the IP address from there.

Its just that during the deployment, I was informed that customer by default has no internet unless you use proxy.

I set the IP Address in 172.26.x.x subnet, in this case, should I connect to normal LAN port then access http://172.26.x.x?

Regards,

Mike

Hi @ww ,

Understood, so meaning I still need to access it based in the original management IP.

I'll give it a try when I go onsite tomorrow and give you a feedback.

Thanks,

Mike

@Mike05  Is local management page access enabled in your dashboard as its something that can be disabled.

Network-wide > Configure > General

Hi @BlakeRichardson ,

Thank you for your response.

I will explore this option, I'm still new in using Meraki Dashboard 🙂

Hi @ww , @KarstenI ,

It works!

So that's the way in case I can't access using dedicated management port.

Anyway, thanks to all of your replies.

Regards,

Mike
