MS250 Power Cord options

Hi Guys!

Just want to know your inputs with regards to my inquiry.

As per checking the data sheet of MS, these are the only compatible power cables for MS250-48FPS

MA-PWR-CORD-US
MA-PWR-CORD-EU
MA-PWR-CORD-UK
MA-PWR-CORD-AU

However, what I'm trying to look at is the equivalent of CAB-C13-CBN.

Is it possible to use other power cord (from Cisco Catalyst switches) instead of using Meraki provided power cords (since there are no options for this)?

The C15 is a standard power connector, it differs from the C13 in the temperature rating.  The C13 (without the notch) are only rated for 70 °C, while the C15 (with the notch) is rated for 150 °C.  Since the heat exhaust in most PoE switches is the back of the power supply where the power cord connects, it can get quite warm there.  Both connectors are rated at the same amperage (10A) and voltage (up to 250V).

You can source the cables from anywhere, we've been using Tripp Lite cables because they are available in multiple colors, so you can color code them based on what phase they are supplied from.

Kind of a big deal

I don't see why not.  The only consideration might be to make sure you select a proper, heavy gauge and not a cheap cable from a questionable source.

Yes spankym. What I'm planning is to order the Catalyst power cord.

Also, with the power supply of MS250-48FPS, what is the legit image for MA-PWR-1025WAC?

Is it A or B?

So I can check if Cab-C13-CBN or CAB-C15-CBN is the appropriate cable that I can offer (IF and only if other power cords are compatible with Meraki PSU)

I know that Meraki uses cords with a notch in them on the MS350s but I think the catalyst line uses notched cords too

If that's the case then CAB-C15-CBN power cord will do I guess.

This is one of my bug bears about keyed power cords, you either spend $20 on the genuine cords or have to source a cheaper alternative.

Why they dont allow you to use standard power cords I have no idea.

Yes Blake, that's the cable they need since the power supply has a notch on its socket.
