Kindly explain the difference between

  1. Meraki License Start Date and Claim-date
  2. Meraki License types (co-term and per-device)

You can find the answer on the documentation.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

1. Start date is from date of delivery (co-term) or up to 90 days after delivery (per-device), but no later than claim date.

2. All licenses expire at the same time vs. unique license periods per device.

In Get Organization Licensing Coterm Licenses API : GET /organizations/{organizationId}/licensing/coterm/licenses (in Meraki Developer hub - https://developer.cisco.com/meraki/api-latest/#!get-organization-licensing-coterm-licenses

I/N: GET /organizations/1215707/licensing/coterm/licenses

Questions:

1) Since the output is given within these curly brackets{ } and not in an array[ ], can we expect multiple licensing values and if we get multiple license from this API then how to differentiate the same device models in the different license?
2) how to calculate the licensing expiration date, say one year will it be calculated by considering the startedAt date or ClaimedAt date

Have you checked the documentation?

https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Licensing/Meraki_Licensing

You can use the "License Calculator":

Thanks for the clarification on start and claim date.
Yes sir i have checked the documentation but there is no explanation regarding the above API. So
kindly explain me Regarding that Co-term API Output in detail.

But a single license can cover more than one type of device, and I believe that the API will only return the license that is actually active, you know?

so for me, this explanation applies to what you are getting from the API.

The Cisco Meraki Co-Termination licensing model works on the basis of co-termination, which means that for any given organization, regardless of how many licenses were applied or when they were applied, the license expiration date for all licenses claimed to that organization will be exactly the same. This is accomplished by averaging all active licenses together and dividing by the license limit count of devices in the organization.

The Start Date is the Date the licence starts and the Claim-Date is the date the licence was claimed in the Dashboard

Co term all licences expire at the same time

Per devices  each device can have it own expire date

Start date is date of e-delivery of license or specific start date assigned as per agreement with cisco sales team( requested in cases where client is not ready to use licenses right away)

and claim date is when license keys are claimed/applied in the dashboard.

in Co-Term model new license is averaged out of all devices available in dashboard extending the expiration date uniformly for all devices.

in per device basis each order has its separate expiration date for each order.
