Sharing 4 simple dashboard tips!

Hey Community!

I just wanted to share a short video I made while working from home. Small quick tips that you might not know about the Meraki dashboard.

Let me know if you knew about these already or if you found them helpful!

Useful tips there. Did know the first one with regards switching between sites but only from experience.  Keep them coming

Wah , Very nice , Thanks for sharing bro

Great idea Donovan! Guess there will always be some bells and whistles many will not even think of. Are you possibly thinking about delivering this as a series of videos?

That's the plan! Although there won't be a structured series, just short videos of info I think will be helpful. My idea for the next video is a quick and dirty walkthrough of Auto VPN troubleshooting with Wireshark.

Surely there isn't much to troubleshoot on the Auto VPN side...? A few clicks and you're done 🙂

What about dashboard best practice when bringing up a new site i.e changing Timezones, Naming the site, setting Spanning Tree Root etc etc.?

Hi Donavan, many thank for your video...like to see such tipps more often! They help on our day to day work.

Knew all of them already, but I'm still grateful that you're doing this!

I especially like the word of caution for the last one because the throughput test has confused me in the past. For example, in my experience, the MS220-8P switches give a totally different result than the other product groups, no idea why.

Good tips, I liked the second one in particular, did not know that! For the third you can also do full tunnel with a mesh site by adding an exit hub as per the below screenshot:

Thanks @DJDonovan,

That shift select when working with Meraki SM could have saved me so much time over the years 😁

The (deselect all) should somehow be highlighted more; may have caused an issue once or two.

Thank you,

Peter James
