i dont think the STP is the issue. we have STP enabled on all MS225 ports and after the 14.32 upgrade we started having issues on IP-Phones and laptops not authenticating. the "fix" for now is to roll back to 12.28

we are experiencing the exact issue with the ip-Phone trying to authenticate on VOice Vlan before the Data Vlan. the phones stop working after the laptop authenticate. i believe we have to roll back to 12.28 until Meraki fix this issue.

apparently this feature is not available yet on MS switches which is mindboggling, on the cat switches i could set a ipv6 DHCP snooping command to block. at this point it seems the only "fix" for my issue the only way to block that traffic would be to configure an IPv6 ACL on my switches.

@dwash in the Meraki dashboard, go to Wireless-> Configure-> Firewall & Traffic Shaping. I think you can set rules and limit the bandwidth per SSID. under Default Rules you should see an option for Software update.

@harmankardon i would say about a year and half since we went with SD-WAN and MX67. so as you can imagine, management was not happy about this scenario since i pushed for Meraki. it could be a bad batch no clue, but the RMA went smooth and so was the replacement, no configuration change was made, the new MX will only need internet access through WAN1 to get the current config, you should be good to go after that. in my case i use 2 uplinks, and both are static, so i need to configure the new MX before deployment, but like I mentioned if you have your MX in DHCP, you should be able just to plug and play, the new MX will get the current config from the dashboard.

The APN hard code did not work, Meraki support was able to fix the LTE issue on some 50 MX, but was unable to fix about 40 MX, so they deemed them deflective and ultimately RMA'd them. no issues reported after the new MXs were installed.

I thought the MX 16.2 release suppose to add LTE support to be used as un uplink instead of only being used for failover.

I forgot to mentioned that the WOL option needs to be enabled on the LAN adapter prior to send it via Meraki dashboard. I tested it on my test laptop and it worked like a charm.

I just want to share something and im not sure if it was discussed before but it’s a tool nevertheless. On Meraki dashboard you can actually send a Wake on Lan packets to reboot a machine that is offline. The caveat is the HDD encryption password needs to be disabled on the machine if exists. I just thought it’s cool to be able to do that via Meraki Dashboard.

contacted Meraki and they were aware of it. it seems to be fixed now. it's just annoying when you try to reconfigure the Uplinks and realize you can't.. but it's fixed nevertheless and im connected to N297 btw.

thank you for the update, i contacted Meraki and opened a case, they keep insisting the APN is applied correctly to all our MX, i tried to hard reboot and the steps you mentioned and the MX sim modem will not pick up a signal. Meraki most likely will advice to RMA these MXs and we are talking around 100 of them! that's something im not looking forward to.

hello, have you ever got this issue fixed? im having the same issue and i just updated one of my MXs to 15 for testing and the LTE is showing no signal, Meraki keep saying the APN vzwinternet is correctly applied to all my MXs but keep suspecting the SIM card tray, they requested a hard reboot which i did, nothing seems to get the signal back. keep in mind the MX in question was initially installed with Sim card at the beginning, and it had a poor signal until couple months ago where the LTE uplink keeps showing no signal at all.

i can confirm what others said about the VPN drop. i was looking at the wrong logs, all VPN tunnels remained operational. but still Meraki has to mitigate the issue

same goes for us, we have 200 remote office with VPN tunnels dropped. what happened today should scare the crap out of any engineer. this is going to be a nightmare if all access to clients is tied directly to the Meraki Dashboard. i hope Meraki fix this issue or at least chime in. because im seriously considering dropping all Meraki products in our environment.

just an FYI, i installed a new MS225 and blocked its MAC from ISE to replicate that ISE not responding, i had one machine with the applied access polices applied connected to the switch, and once the machine could not authenticate with ISE, the laptop had access to the internet and that's what we wanted. the VLAN 500 is defined in ISE, and since the MS is blocked, the 500 Vlan policy no longer applies.

hello, we use multiple MS-225 for production and all endpoints are authenticating via ISE. if a machine failed the authentication I created a Vlan500 where it just "sits" there with no valid IP. my question is simple: in case of a catastrophic ISE failure and the radius server is down, how my endpoints can access the network? I know on the cat switches it was easier, if the machine is unable to reach ISE, the port will be open and the machine will connect to the network, in the Meraki MS, if ISE is not reachable, the port will not be opened and like i mentioned the machine will automatically be assigned to Vlan 500. and before you ask if simply to delete the Vlan 500, well I added it to prevent unauthorized non-domain machines from accessing the network on LAN.

it didn't, i tried Firefox, Edge, Explorer and still wont work, after some digging on my part and ultimately Support confirmed it, the issue only affect aggregated ports on MS switches even Distribution MS-450s, below is the response from support: "Hello Zee, Thank you for contacting Cisco Meraki support. This issue has already been reported by support to our development team. It is only affecting the dashboard output of switch aggregate ports, not the function of those ports. If you need to make changes to any ports that fail to load, please use Switch > Switch Ports or API to change them. I will notify you through this case when a fix for this issue has been pushed to dashboard. Please let me know if you have additional questions. hello, does anyone encounter an issue where the Uplink port on a Meraki MS switch tab failed to load? basically i can't check the config nor change it. I have multiple stacks with aggregated uplink ports, and they are the only ports that are failing to loads under ports tab.
