Meraki Network Stack Design

Hi,

in the attached diagram I am wondering if stacking and uplinking the stacked switches is valid configuration?

One point - you have a physical stack of core switches (425’s).  Are you looking at stacking your edge switches and removing the individual uplinks from each switch to the core?

Some will be for this some will be against. Some don’t like having larger stacks.

Could you dual connect each edge switch back to the core across both core switches to give you 20Gbs etherchannel per switch?  You have the capacity on your core to do so.

Hi @AbbyDoc-UK

On first glance I would say this looks like a suitable and resilient design.

im not sure what you mean by “unlinking” though?

@DarrenOC The physical stack has been removed in the new drawing and as you rightly observed, we will be using the uplinks between both switches at the core.

Again, you are right, we have been discussing the idea of having dual uplinks between each access switch and the core.

Thanks.
