Probably a question for a different category. I've been trying to get one working and having a little trouble. Got a windows server. Got kiwi solar winds ( the free version ). Opened up the ports needed but no events getting logged. Set the syslog server address in the dashboard. The syslog server console is empty. Ideas? Test events work just not events from the MX.

In our event log, the MX is blocking a URL but it isn't giving a category. Below is an example. an 30 12:41:15 00:18:0a:4f:00:01 Content filtering blocked URL url https://static-cdn.strpst.com/..., server 104.18.63.124:443, categories Anyone seen this URL. What is this that's getting blocked? Thanks for your insight.

I will definitely look into that. We're a 5th through 12th grade school with about 900 students and 250 faculty, staff and administrators so about 1150 users with about 2300 endpoints ( laptops, desktops, tablets, phones ) spread over 11 buildings on 2 campuses. We are an independent school completely updating our entire network infrastructure with Meraki gear based on the recommendation by an independent school technology consultant. We also would like to move to cloud based authentication and remove our on-prem AD. Has there been any progress on this technologically? This is of great interest to us.

Thanks for your response. The URL is http://scarleteen.org. In the URL allow list, I put scarleteen.org. After I put the URL in the allow list, I got this message. So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong now.

I have a URL that I'm having trouble unblocking. I placed the url in the Allow URL list but it is still getting blocked. Is there another place I have to put it as well?

Thanks for the info. We do have the proxy avoidance filter being used. We're trying to monitor and block students from getting around our content filtering. If the MX is really blocking DoH and DoT then shouldn't everybody not be able to get to any website? I'm going to have to review how DNS works again. I thought I understood it.

Hello Meraki Fans, We're new to Meraki equipment as we're migrating our network infrastructure to meraki gear. Is there a way to see what URLs are being visited. I want to see real time what URLs are being visited and what clients are visiting those sites. It was real easy and intuitive with our Palo Alto firewall but I can't find a similar easy way with our MX450. Thanks very much for the help.

Hello Meraki Community, We're new to the Meraki gear and are slowly but surely migrating our entire network. So now learning the nuances of our MX450. First thing I can't really find an adequate explanation for is this. I was looking in our event logs and we're getting thousands of content filtering events related to blocking dns.google. We're also getting thousands of dropped events. How do we get rid of those. It doesn't seem like we're getting blocked from Google DNS as no one has reported any problems accessing anything. All these events are just clogging up the event log.

We're getting this and DNS over HTTPS is disabled. How can I see more detail on these events? It's causing so many that some events aren't even being logged.

Well, I think I've narrowed it down to my wireless router. I turned off the firewall on it so nothing should be being blocked and still I can't connect. I'm not sure what I'm going to tell our faculty and staff if they encounter this at their home. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using a Mac running OS X High Sierra and am having trouble connecting to our school with VPN from home. I have comcast using a Arris SBG6580 as my wireless router. When I try to connect I get the L2TP-VPN server did not respond. If I connect my iMac to the net through my Phone's hotspot it works great. I connect no problem. So something in my SGB6580 seems to be blocking the communication. Anyone else encounter this?
