I see in the new Security Center there is an option to block IP or block country. The block country option creates a Layer 7 rule for the corresponding country. Does anybody use this? It's tempting to block some countries I could never see us sending traffic to or from.

Now that you mention it, they could benefit from an update. Something a little more representative than diamond, square, rectangle, etc.

Thanks for the update and all the detail. I'd have been nervous too during that long upgrade process. This is something I'm going to be doing in the near future. We have random dropped uplinks from time to time. Let us if it fixes your issues.

I have 2 MS-350 stacks. One stack with 2 switches and the other with 3 switches. When we first tried deploying these a year ago we had issues. Firmware wasn't out for stacking them back then. We had multiple engineers pulling their hair out of some of the bizarre issues that were going on. I haven't had any issues over the last 8 months with them though. We are still running MS 8.10

Yeah, technically you are whitelisting a device, not a user. In that case, it works as a solution though.

I'm glad to know it isn't just my network. I seem to think a year ago it was fairly accurate then it went off the rails. I thought it was related to a Meraki MX update, but I'm not positive.

Anyone else get wildly inaccurate Device types reported by Meraki on clients across multiple networks? Some examples: Meraki: Dell iPod In Reality: OptiPlex 9020 workstation Meraki: Cisco Systems iPhone In Reality: Cisco Catalyst 2960X 48 Port Switch Meraki: Cisco Systems iPad In Reality: Cisco IP Phone 8945 Meraki: Cisco Systems Cisco Catalyst 35xx In Reality: Cisco IP Phone 8945 Meraki: Hewlett-Packard iPod In Reality: HP LaserJet P2055dn printer Meraki: Cisco Systems Cisco wireless phone In Reality: Cisco IP Phone 7942G Meraki: CyberPower Systems Eye-Fi Wireless Memory Card In Reality: CyberPower Systems UPS Remote management card Meraki: Dell Windows Server In Reality: OptiPlex 9020 workstation No matter how many times we Flag the device as inaccurate and put in the correct device it stays the same thing. It is also very bizarre that all workstations are in Meraki Systems Manager which knows exactly what model the device is.

Hi all. I'm Dave. I am the Information Systems Officer for a community bank in North Western Pennsylvania. We have 8 locations and use Meraki gear for all of our firewalls and almost all of our switching. I'm also using Meraki Systems Manager for windows app deployment and inventorying. I just started Threat Grid integration into the MX's. Recent father of identical twin girls that are only 6 weeks old. I also have 3 and 4-year-old daughters as well. Pardon my mistakes as I'm very sleep deprived.
