Checked the switchport physically and there is no light at all. Also rebooted the switch many times. Also tested with other POE device and the same ports work i.e. power + connectivity. Forgot to mention this is a new RMA unit. Now I wondering, is there a difference in the way the 4 pairs of wires (network cable) is used? Why the same MR works on MX75 but not the MS. Coz testing with a basic network tester shows no error.

By default POE is already enabled. And power usage is just 7.82 W / 370 W. Btw it's only 3 WAPs. Anything else to check?

Good y'all. I'm currently having some issue with these above 2 models. When the MR46 are plugged into the switchports, none of MR46 power up. No lights whatsoever on the switchports / MR. Cable test seems to be good (all 4 pairs lights up and correct). However, when the MR are plugged into a MX75, the MR power up and comes online.. Switch currently on MS16.9. Anyone has similar setup?

Hi Tony, Thanks for the reply. Based on your drawing, I'm trying to see whether its possible to publish a server in the vlan 20 via MX2 using the 1:1Nat. I understand that by doing default route under site to site VPN, everything goes out via MX1. Hence, wondering whether the 1:1NAT policy supersede the default route policy and allow the incoming traffic from web to that server in vlan20 and then have it egress back out via the MX2 WAN. I'm wondering, if Meraki has this feature that allows local internet breakout by source rather than destination, would it works?

Would like to understand the traffic flow priority here. Say that I have a spoke site connecting to a hub with full tunnel auto vpn setup. And one of the LAN vlan e.g. vlan x is enabled for VPN. Am I still able to use the 1:1 NAT to point to an IP inside the VLAN X thru the spoke site's WAN 1? Or it will not work, as all the traffic for that VLAN is being tunneled out thru the VPN out to the hub? Arigato.

Anything that uses locally provided Internet will face interruptions. You will need to consider Non Internet as medium to establish the connection between China & Global. https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Support/Information_for_Users_in_China#ntegrate%20China%20Org%20to%20International%20Network

Greetings All. Came online and noticed one of the remote network's WAN 1 was showing 'failed' status. Checked and discovered it was caused by a 'disruption' in the existing DNS (provided by ISP). Changed to Google DNS and line came back up. At the same time WAN 2 remained 'Active'. Would like to know whether there's a documented KBA on such finding. Will a failed DNS configured lead to a 'failed' status of the WAN?

Yes indeed. had an issue earlier where user on wifi was complaining of slow upload. other than getting the user / lcon to connect via ethernet, the best way for a remote admin to look into the issue is by running the speedtest (upload especially) and validate that claim. in this case, somehow there was no issue when testing via ethernet.

Thanks mate. Was looking for this doc earlier. Could upload speedtest be included in upcoming enhancement? 😁

And when you clicked the individual network from this page, you will get the 'Metrics & Connection' history (in graph form): - Wan Connectivity, Usage, Loss, Latency, Jitter, Download speed history

Seeing a new module called Speedtest Beta in WAN Health. Quite interesting. The speedtest result are much higher than the one from Dashboard Throughput, almost reflecting the actual subscribed speed. And when drilled down to individual network, I can see 'Download Speed History'. Anyone knows whether this reflects the manual run speedtest or we can set and interval (e.g. every 1 hour)? Nevertheless, a great addition, Meraki!.

These are seen: Auto Negotiation on PE device 1) When using laptop (auto) seeing very slow upload, when using laptop (100MbpsFD) getting almost subscribed speed (up/down). 100Mbps FD on PE deice 1) When using laptop (auto) seeing very slow upload, when using laptop (100MbpsFD) getting almost subscribed speed (up/down). 2) When connected to Meraki, wan port showing 100Mbps HD; slow upload on laptop connected to ethernet (LAN). We are getting the ISP to replace their PE.

Suspecting issue is with the PE device. Awaits replacement to confirm. Coz when they claimed its has been reconfigured to 100Mbps FD, Meraki Auto Nego shows 100Mbps Half Duplex. Very odd.

Hi there, Would like to reach out to other administrators whom had faced this issue before. We been informed by the ISP that we need to set our MX WAN Port to 100Mbps FD in order to work with their device (Raisecom). However, the port does not show green (portal) in this setting. Tried unplug / replug the cable and it makes no difference. But once set back to Auto, the wan port comes back online (green). Anyone faced such before?

I'm trying to capture the packet loss. We are having issue with DNS traffic that traverse through auto vpn via the vMX. Other than doing packet capture simultaneously from both end (on MX / MS), is there any other methods? Anyone has encountered UDP traffic issue via auto VPN?

Thanks for the sharing. About point 3, wouldn't the solution (non-meraki VPN) be 'within the law' as long as the data are used only for internal data exchange and office use. https://documentation.meraki.com/General_Administration/Support/Information_for_Users_in_China

Would anyone know, whether by adding a redundant PSU to an already running MX (that has 2 modular PSU slots) causes any disruption? Or is it required to power down the box first?

Looking for more info on setting up the above. I have 1 main MX serving multiple smaller MX'es in china. All on China Portal. Now I'm trying to establish a VPN between the main MX and a VMX e.g. Azure in Australia. I believe Auto VPN is out the question, since its not on the same portal. Hence, correct me if wrong but the only way to setup is by using the Non-Meraki VPN peers option. Is that right?
