Thanks, I want to lock it down more, really what I am trying to do is lock down the network subnet by vlan.    SO is it best to do it at the MX? For example. I don't want these three subnets to be able to access the LAN.     ... View more

I was able to update my native vlan to the choice of my choosing being 160. I was able to change the SSID traffic to go via bridge using a vlan ID, instead of the L3 roaming option.   However, I still can't ping any of the gateway's of the vlans. Thoughts? ... View more

Thanks, let me follow up next week. I’ve ordered a MR, and I’ll have some cameras connecting wireless. And some cameras connecting hard wire. But the hard wire cameras will actually be plugging directly into the NVR. And just 1 network cable from NVR to a MS switch. Is it possible to segment all of the camera traffic from the other wired and wireless traffic? Perhaps then I can then look again at summary report. I’m wanting to completely separate the camera traffic from the rest of the network because of security concerns. ... View more

They are not being view remotely. If they are, it would be only when we open the app on our phone. It’s not viewable remotely. And the NVR is storing the data on the NVR locally. Not in cloud. I do know the camera is set to continuously record meaning it doesn’t record only event or motion, but 24/7. ... View more

I am trying to learn more on using Postman, and connecting to my Meraki MX or MS, and running a script to see what the firmware version is running on it, and maybe even try pushing a firmware update to it.    Does anyone have any super easy instructions on this? 🙂 or perhaps something else that is useful when dealing with the Meraki API and Postman? I think it is a skill that would be super beneficial later down the road...   ... View more

Network Performance Monitoring on MX64

Is there any way I can investigate and or dig deeper into what might be causing the slow network performance? What I mean is, I changed some settings on the mx64 firewall, and basically I eliminated the network concerning my security cameras. What I noticed was when I pulled a webpage, that it loaded faster. So just wondering if there is some documents pertaining to increasing network performance for the mx64 especially since it is serving the DHCP for the various vlans. ... View more

No NAT on the netgear device. It looks pretty straightforward you just put the netgear into AP mode, and it asks if you want to assign and ip address or get one dynamically. I assigned it one specifically, and then turned off for it to serve DHCP addresses. The netgear in AP mode also lets you configure the wifi settings, SSID, password, etc. But for some reason or another, it is working but instead of pulling a 10.10.11.x ip address on a laptop or cell phone with wifi, it pulls a 10.10.9.x address which that is supposed to be for only hardwired addresses... ... While sitting with a 10.10.9.2 ip address... I can ping the 10.10.11.1 and get a response, but can't get a response for the 10.10.11.2, however I can access the 10.10.11.2 by getting a login page, and just to confirm although the netgear is in AP mode, the DHCP server is turned off on the netgear, as I thought it might be better performance to let the firewall handle the DHCP instead of the netgear ap? ... The good news is I am starting to see devices that pull the 10.10.x.x network but the problem is the wifi hosts should be pulling a 10.10.11.x address. So for some reason or another it is pulling ip addresses from the 10.10.9.x network for the wifi clients... perhaps I've got to add some static routes ? ... View more
