Is there a way to force a mesh AP to join a specific root AP? Thank you!

VLAN's are like a party where different groups of people each speak their very own cryptic language that the other groups cannot understand. They know there is something being said but have no way of understanding it without the words first going through an interpreter (router) that would translate the language into the one they are speaking. Say the party has 20 people attending, there are 4 groups of 5 people in each group and each one of those groups speak their own cryptic language with a distinctive dialect which is like a VLAN tag. That distinctive dialect is what the interpreter (router) would use to translate to the other groups or that a switch would use to keep that traffic within speakers of the same dialect. That is VLAN's in a nutshell.

My issue was resolved by correcting an issue with the firewall and no change to the Meraki equipment.

The only thing being blocked on the guest network is video and music. The firewall is a checkpoint firewall. I assumed that the guest networks traffic was tunneled past the firewall to the meraki cloud and would therefor not be subject to the firewall. Is that not correct?

The problem appears to affect both Android and Apple and does not work even when the phones are placed into airplane mode. Any other suggestions?

Yes, Wi-Fi calling using the regular phone mechanism on the cell phones. This specific location is located in a basement that has very poor cell phone service. I am being told that it is both IOS and Android devices but I will confirm that. I can't specifically say right now if it applies to all providers but I will investigate that.

Wi-Fi calling is enabled on their smart phones as they say it works for them at other locations. I will try to place a phone in airplane mode and see what happens.

I have Meraki AP's connected to Meraki switches and have two SSID's configured. One is guest and one is internal. The guest network is configured for NAT mode with PSK and is only filtering Video and Music, no filtering on the internal network. We are unable to make or receive any phone calls while connected to the wireless network. I thought it might be a FW issue for the internal network but the guest network is not working either and it does not use our firewall.

I have all of my SSID's controlled by an central SSID template. Can I disable a specific SSID for a specific Network by using the "Access Control" functionality? Will that disable the SSID for all of the Networks that are using the template or just the one Network where I disable it under "Access Control"?

I was actually thinking of drilling into the channel grid as I don't trust the tiles to hold any AP. If I were to rely on the tile I would use a board long enough to span the tile and rely on the grid work, never the tile.

They do not. If you are familiar with the Cisco mounting bracket the two clips on the bracket meet together on the T-Rail whereas with the Meraki clip the two ends are about 2 inches apart. If I were to use the adapter I would need 4 of them and that is not a workable option.

Both of you are correct if I were mounting to a T-Rail drop ceiling grid. In my case, I need to mount these AP's to a Channel drop ceiling grid as shown in the center image. The left image is the T-Rail grid and the right one is a Beam grid. For the middle and right Cisco sells the AIR-CHNL-ADAPTER adapter to mount all of their AP's to both of these types of ceiling grids. I cannot use that adapter to mount Meraki AP's so I was wondering if anyone knows of a viable solution for these two other types of celings.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to mount an MR53 to a channel drop ceiling grid? Cisco has an option to use the AIR-CHNL-ADAPTER but I don't see anything for Meraki AP's.
