Hi, Can anyone please advise. Two SSID's use the same VLAN on our network, devices have no issues when connected to one SSID and can break out to the internet. When devices are connected to the other SSID on the same AP they connect okay but it stated "no internet". This occurs on different models of APs. It doesn't make sense as there doesn't seem to be an issue at the service provider end as one SSID works using the same VLAN as the other. Thank you

Hi, Can anyone please advise? when using NAT mode with Meraki DHCP can traffic still be tagged to use different VLANs. When testing we have noticed when the client IP assignment is set to Meraki DHCP traffic defaults to the native VLAN. We would prefer it to default to other VLANs instead of the the native VLAN when using this method is this possible? Thank you

Hi, A number of devices we have claimed to our Meraki inventory are showing as invalidated licenses. (When you select Orgainisation-License Info-Show invalidated licenses) All these devices were claimed successfully at the time typically by entering the Cisco Order Number on the shipment information page. (licenses were purchased with the order). Any advice please on getting these devices licenses validated as they should be? Thanks

Hi, Can anyone please advise? due to standardisation of IP addresses within our estate we will be reconfiguring our Meraki switches and APs with new IP address typically remotely. What is the best approach to this without losing connectivity to the Meraki switch typically when it geographically far away. The Meraki switch will be reconnected to a different router which is configured with the new IP address range. Is the Meraki switch intelligent enough to switch to DHCP when it cannot reach out to the cloud (due to still possessing the old IP address range) or is it best to change the configuration on the switch to DHCP through the Meraki portal before the switch is connected to the new router (new IP address range)? Once the switch is live and connected to the new router we will change the switch and connected AP's to static IP's again within the new range via the Meraki portal. Thank you

Looking for some advice please, this evening the network name was changed for one of our sites and it has brought down all switches within that network for some reason. I'm unsure why changing the network name has caused this issue but it has. This is the only change that was made. The network has been renamed to the original name but unfortunately the switches are still down. Any advice please on how to get the switches back online would be appreciated and what has caused this?

I mistakenly assigned the IP address 10.16.23.1 which belongs to a Cisco 2960 in the same range. I have tried changing to an unused IP address 23.9 or 23.10 but it still won't bring the switch fully online. I have tried also DHCP and DHCP without the VLAN but the issue is still evident. Should I change it back to an unused static IP address and it eventually will come back online or is the configuration messed up on the switch now and only a factory reset will resolve it?

Can anyone advise please, one of our switches MS120-8LP is displaying an alert "Poor connectivity to the Meraki cloud." The AP's connected to it have no issue for example AP3 on port 6 of the switch is online. Can anyone advise please the MS120-8FP switch we use is networked and live. Is it possible that we can connect a MS220-8P switch to it by network cable to establish network connectivity on it also. We have set both ports on both switches to the same native VLAN, allowed VLANs set to all and disabled POE on both ports that we will connect the network cable on both switches. We plan to connect the network switches then by network cable so the MS220-8P is networked? is this possible between these two switch models or will it only work on a like for like model? Thanks

Yes it's the same VLAN we are using DHCP from, all the switches revert to static IP without issue but for some reason the AP's don't or don't reflect the change to static addressing on the relevant AP page.

Hi, Can anyone advise please why the IP address of an AP is not changing to static when instructed within their web portal but shows within the switch page as the correct static IP address. For example within Wireless->Access Points->AP1 displays as LAN IP (DHCP) even though it has been changed to a static IP address. When you select Switch->Switches below Clients AP1 displays as the static IP address you have assigned it. What can be causing this mismatch of the switch recognising the correct AP address but the AP not within it's page?

Hi, On our network an office was offline due to port 2 on the Meraki 220 8P switch being disabled. I am sure this has always been set to enabled as it's connected to the netgear switch on site. A person on site checked and wasn't sure if the network cable was connected correctly at both end (from port 2 to the switch). They reseated the cable at both ends then. If the network cable isn't connected correctly will the Meraki device disable the port then at some stage? Thanks

Can anyone please assist, I need to check if DHCP is setup on our Meraki MS220-8P switch. Is it setup by default? it is connected to a Cisco router and DHCP is enabled on the router but for some reason the switch won't allocate IP addresses to devices.

We suspect some firesticks are being used on our wireless network to perhaps stream movies or sporting events. We wish to stop this from happening by either blocking access from a firestick device to our wireless network or limiting the services within the firestick but we would be unsure what app they would be using.

Hi, Can anyone please advise, I wish to allow only authorised devices (MAC Addresses) onto a particular SSID. I can see if you go to the clients list (Network-Wide > Clients), find the device and click on it you can change the policy. Set the access to your ssid to blocked and so on. I wish to find out is there a way around this by stopping the device joining an SSID in the first place without having to manually block them. Thank you

Yes they do match and are native VLAN 1. It states they cannot be physically stacked so does it not matter that they are currently physically connected by a network cable into port 8 on both switches?

Hi, Can someone please advise, I am trying to stack two 8 port MS220 switches. Is this possible? The first switch works fine and is online but I need more ports and have connected port 8 on the additional switch to port 8 on the working switch by a network cable. I notice stacking is not available as an option with the port configuration. Is there any additional configuration this is required or should it start working? for some reason the additional switch is showing as Dormant. Thank you
