During the recent CrowdStrike incident, I had a customer use the Microsoft-provided PXE server and image to remotely recover machines.  Below is a mock-up (IP addresses made up) of what it looked like.  We put the Microsoft PXE boot server in their data centre, and the machines were recovered over SD-WAN.     I can also tell you that while this worked for a high percentage of their machines, we had a single digit percentage that would not PXE boot (they would start and then fail), which we put down to BIOS bugs. ... Unfortunately, unless things change at Meraki, I think you're going to be in the same position I was -- Meraki will insist that you have to renew your entire dashboard *including* the 10 CA-90 licenses that still have a year's worth of value on them. Fingers crossed that they've fixed this before your renewal in 2 years! (Honestly, I don't know how this hasn't become a bigger issue if everyone using CA runs into this out of sync licensing renewal issue) ... View more

Thanks I know but that needs additional licensing as well to an already licensed device. I would compare it to MR licensing. Every AP works with the same enterprise license. You have the option to choose advanced license if you like to have more security with umbrella.  MV2 is quite expensive, require same license as the other MV’s. But are more or less “useless” without cloud archive. It’s a little bit annoying you cannot even go back 10 seconds in time.  just using the MV2 for lab purpose. It’s cute and all but if I would like to see stuff in realtime I would buy an Eufy cam for 25 dollars that display video in realtime instead of up to one minute delay.  I love the whole Meraki platform and products and that is probably the most and only negative thing I would express.     I have never used cloud archive or seen it as it seems you cannot get a trial for it.
