Fix the LLDP on the MX250/450 issue. 2 years left on advanced security on 24 MX250/450. 2 Years on an open case and no result. Clock is ticking. Gotta start looking for a new solution!

I don’t have the mx64 for the gig FiOS. I’m running an MX250. But the way I have it setup Is as follows. ONT to MX250 via Internet port 2 (home connection) On one of the lan ports I have assigned a VLAN 80 with DHCP enabled with the following range: 172.16.80.0/28 and have that port plugged into my WAN port of the FiOS router for the TV portion to work. make sure you do not assign a 192.168.1.0/24 as it will conflict with the FiOS router internal network. And then you can configure the VPN using the dynamic DNS name of the meraki.

They should considering the wait time on hold to speak to support lately. 4 hours 22 minutes on hold only for the call to drop after answering it. They should really drop vonage as their carrier. Anyone want any meraki equipment I’ve had enough!!

It might work if you create a group policy and attach it to that client. That’s when the layer 7 will kick in. Since group policies are stateless.

You don’t have to do any of that to have the MX get the public IP. All you have to do is login into ur FiOS router and tell it to release the DHCP IP you are getting for the WAN. The minute that happens unplug your FiOS router. Next get the Ethernet cable that goes into your FiOS router WAN port and plug it into the meraki mx64 internet port. If it doesn’t work on the first shot hit the reset button on the ONT. now if you have FiOS TV service, reconfigure one of your lan ports on your MX to a vlan 50 for example with any IP address scheme except 192.168.1.1. Next plug an Ethernet cable from the mx64 lan port to the FiOS router wan port. Now your TV guide and PPV works. Done it millions of times and works flawlessly.

Is your Mx getting a public ip on its interface or getting a private from your isp’s router. From what you are explaining sounds like a double nat issue.

Thank you. You have giving me some hope that it will be fixed. We are getting ready for a big deployment that’s going to have a bunch of switches. That’s why I’m concerned and need the LLDP fixed. I don’t want to click on a switch 1 and it telling x client is connected to it meanwhile it’s connected to switch 10.

@LandrinLong I def don’t want to go to Ubiquiti I was bringing that up as an example. I really want to stay with meraki. I’ll be honest the answer they gave me rubbed me the wrong way after investing a lot of money on this solution. If you can pm me what they sent you that will be great maybe I rubbed them the wrong way also and got that response.

@LandrinLong you are lucky they haven’t updated my ticket unless I call in or ask for an update. The last word I got was that the development team won’t work on this issue and was offered to downgrade to an MX105, why would I downgrade. If an MX64 - 105 can create a perfect topology and show which clients are attached to what switch then it should also work on their big boy routers also. Part that gets me is how is Ubiquiti able to get this to work and Meraki a Cisco company can’t. It’s been over a year.

Apparently the CDP/LLDP issue with the MX250 and MX450 to them is a cosmetic issue and doesn’t have any real world impact, and won’t be worked on, that’s just a great answer for a solution I spent a good amount of money. Never again will I recommend a Meraki solution to a customer.

Well I just i found out they will not be fixing the LLDP/CDP Issue on the MX250 and MX450. Looks like the developers dont find it a real world impact. Guess I will be pulling the plug on Meraki. This is complete garbage. Never will i recommend another meraki product to any of our customers, if thats how they treat their flagship models. HALF BAKED!

@NolanHerring Client in question is an iPhone 12 Pro and an a Lenovo X1 9th Gen with the intel Wifi 6 AX 201 160Mhz according to the properties. On the Lenovo X1 the speed fluctuates from 861Mbps to 1.2Gbps. On the iPhone 12 I cant tell. Im running the Beta Firmware of 28.99 which is equivalent to the latest beta. And def im on the 80MHz channel. The channel im on is clear.

@ww I don’t have the UniFi at 160. Meraki is at 80Mhz client is a 2x2 physical rate 1200mbps according to the local status page of the meraki

Hey, just got an MR44 replaced the MR36 which was been outperformed by the MR33. What speeds should I expect from the MR44 with a Wi-Fi 6 client. I can’t seem to break the 400mbps down and 500mbps up, now this is with the client been literally 6 feet away from the access point. I also tried my MR53 from the same distance and I am getting close to 520mbps down and 658mbps up. I also have a beta unit from UniFi (UniFi 6Pro) and I am getting these results: 789mbps down and 831mbps up. All tests have been run separately with no other access point in range and same location and client. Any advice or help will be appreciated. I can’t really compare the MR53 with the MR44 as the MR53 is a 4x4 on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz. Now the UniFi 6 Pro is Wi-Fi 6 only on the 5Ghz which has a 4x4 and the 2.4ghz is only 2x2 which is not Wi-Fi 6 according to the spec sheet.

By any chance do you have bonjour forwarding on both access point and Mx, if yes remove it from the access point. I had the same issue.

Unfortunately it did not change on my end. Upgraded MX250 to 16.7 and also the switches to 14.21 and still the MX250 is in the same location as before.

@cmrthis is what I see: it’s weird my MX is the EFWC. And the main switch is plugged directly into it but their is the box with not enough info box. Same goes for the desk switch that’s plugged into the MX250 which is the EFWC on the image.

@cmrif you look at your dashboard, and click on a client you will see that the MX250 or MX450 is no where to be found on the path, most likely the first thing you will see is client and then switch but no MX unless you have an MX64/65 both wireless and none wireless or MX67/68 both versions.
