I am a self starter and learner. When I started my career at UTRC as an electronics technician the Internet did not exist. There was no book on how to connect the VAX to the Internet. When the World Wide Web started, Gartner told us that the Web was a flash in the pan and advised us to deploy Lotus Notes. Did we listen to Gartner? No, instead we deployed NCSA Mosaic browser on 800 PCs over a weekend.
