If you have a router or firewall (Meraki MX) or layer 3 switch (MS210 or better), you can set up two VLANs and have one subnet in each. The MS or MX can then send the traffic from one to another. Do you have either of these?

Yes you can set up a new network withing the same organisation and use all of the same IP addresses. Just don't create an auto VPN between the two networks, or you'll need an awful lot of NATing.

The only things you can do is put the MG where you get the best signal, or try a different cell provider as there won't be an even spread of users. I'm in the UK, at my old house Vodafone or O2 were the best, whereas in my current house Three provides a much faster and more stable connection.

@xaviervalette are you in an area with quite a few other people within 1km or so? It is completely normal that the signal will degrade as more people use the cell tower (generally in the day time). If not, then I would expect a more constant signal.

@imome9a do you not have any evidence of buying the camera in the first place, even the email from Meraki that you can use to claim it would do? They can then reset it back to you.

I don't believe you can have a sub org, you can have multiple orgs and use the MSP dashboard to switch between them, or am I missing something?

@Wade_Carroll I'd turn it off, it is only really needed with 802.1x or similar authentication, simple psk should roam fine without it.

Any port going up and down will trigger an STP event, not an election that could be disruptive, but a notification.

It looks like you are using WPA3 (as you need to for the 6GHz band to work), I have found that to be substantially less stable than WPA2 on the same AP and same endpoint. Also remember that 6GHz signals travel about 10-20% less far than 5GHz.

I think the built in cellular works as a gateway of last resort. If you have two MGs then you could load balance.

In the past I've swapped out PCs for Chromebooks and thin client terminals. A more modern trend could be to use SharePoint365 instead of on premises file servers along with lots of SaaS. However that's just moving the problem elsewhere... I have also swapped Intel Xeon servers for AMD Epyc as they used a lot less power along with replacing hybrid SANs with Pure flash arrays. On the Meraki side moving stacks from dual PSU MS models to C9300s with power stacking and therefore fewer PSUs could help.

You will find a number of sites stating that CAT6 is good enough for 2.5 and 5 GbE, but my experience when using PoE APs is that anything less than CAT6a isn't reliable above 1GbE. Endpoint devices can run higher speeds over CAT6, generally reliably.

CAT6 is only rated for 1GbE. Only CAT6a is rated for faster speeds. Faster speeds may work on CAT6, but the longer the cable, the less reliable it will be.

What spanning tree mode are the Arubas set to? Meraki switches only support a single instance of spanning tree. What priority are they set to? The core should be the smallest number (say 4096), the distribution bigger (16384, 20480 etc.) and the edge the biggest (40960+). If they are all left at the default 32768 then you will get regular stp elections.

It looks like bad cabling to me, is it a CAT6a run all the way from the switch to the AP? Anything less and you'd be better to limit the AP to auto negotiate only up to 1Gb/s.

Diolch @ConnorL, the CW9163Es survived! We had some minor damage and the boiler randomly failed (perhaps due to the power coming on and off a few times)... Interestingly the Welsh flag came up fine in the notification email! We are in Ceredigion, about a mile from the coast and our house name is Brynawel, which as you'll know means it was pretty mad 🌬️

No sign of a fix for the MV72(X) cameras triggering hundreds of alerts when it rains at night. Luckily I live in Wales so this doesn't affect me too much 🤔
