I would lean towards this being potentially a laptop issue versus MR42. What specific wireless chip-set do your laptops have and what version driver are they on? If it is on the Meraki side, I would look at the config first

Worth a shot. At this point I"m willing to try anything lol. Just want them to be stable. I'll try doing a complete factory reset and then I have a SPARE that I can swap with one to see how it does. Used to only be 4 of them that were doing this, so we tried new firmware, now its 10. No clue about lightning, its in a major city up north so I doubt it as its winter.

Thanks Phil Yes I've tried doing all kinds of things. Cables verified as well. Multiple firmware versions confirmed by support. Everything was fine for months until last week and then some of them just started doing this. I'm now digging into the 2960s to see if there is anything there (nothing yet so far). Now it looks like this, which is a week long view of some of them. Some worse than others.

Hey guys I have one site with MR52s (21 of them in total) and last week (after a few months of operation with no issues) they started to reboot randomly each day, maybe twice a day, one of them half a dozen times. Not all of them, just 4 or 5 of them were doing it. These are between different switch stacks as well (WS-C2960X-48FPS-L), so plenty of power. Went from 25.11 to 25.13, still rebooting randomly. Testing with support and we upgraded them to 26.X and now about 10 of them are rebooting. I'm actively working with Meraki support who is very helpful, but just curious if anyone else out there is having symptoms like this? Solutions?

What about 20,000 clients lol. Just realized it was 5 calls per ORG not NETWORK so that changes things a little lol. Out of curiosity as I really never dabble with scripting etc., if you were actually setting something like this up, what/how would one go about doing something like this to make it automated etc. Assuming some sort of server is required running scripts all the time and those scripts taking action on the API data its pulling etc.

Good idea Phil, however out of curiosity as this solution is something I might look at myself, does this scale? Looks like the GET is for only 1 client at a time, and with that 5 calls per second limit this could be difficult to pull off for larger networks no?

You can do the 'Network usage exceeds XX GB in YY time frame' via email alerting, so it might give at least a heads up.

Glad to hear you got it working. So you ended up going with 1:1 instead of 1:Many? Thought you got an error about using the same public IP more than once? Or am I misunderstanding

Just tested this in my lab. I can use the same local port, if the public port is unique.

Can you provide a screenshot of the config your trying to do before you hit save. I believe for this to work you will have to change the external port to different/unique port numbers if your trying to use the same internal port number (I could be wrong on this as never had to do it. Others on the forum here have more experience with this so hopefully someone else will respond)

Not certain as I've never tried, but you might be able to use a comma or hyphen-range in the port field if that helps keep down the number of entries you have to input. If not then I guess your going to simply have to pour some coffee and get to clicking =P

How is the port on that switch configured? Try removing the VLAN on the switch port configuration. Just delete 1 and hit save. Report back your results.

Open spaces like that are much more difficult to do proper location. Requires usually 4 access points or more, and inside a building this means placing them at the corners and ensuring throughout the building they're are enough that the system can run proper algorithms to do a best-guess at device location based on RSSI. I personally don't really trust/rely on the location heatmap. its kind of like the heat seater in my car in florida. It sometimes gets cold and for those rare moments i might use it. otherwise i forget it even exists 😃
