How did the MX gets its name?

MV makes sense, Meraki Video.

MR makes sense, Meraki Radio.

MS makes sense, Meraki Switch.

MX.  What is the X meant to present?

Found on a reddit post lol

MR = Meraki Radios (wireless)

MS = Meraki Switching

MX = Meraki Security (x because it "crosses" so many technologies)

MV = Meraki Vision (cameras)

MC = Meraki Communication (phones)

MI = Meraki Insight (application preformance)

SM = Systems Manager (device management)

MF = What we say when it doesn’t work

I always thought MX because can function like a router and there's packets going everywhere. 🙂 Yes, I may sometimes imagine network architecture as diverging diamond intersections. Don't @ me.

I have a theory that MR is not Radio, but is in fact Router.

Getting noticed

The X in MX might refer to Extensible Threat Management, often referred to as XTM.

This essentially is a extension of Unified Threat Manage (UTM).

cheers
