I did some testing on my GX20.   If I set DNS Service to default I get the following on a computer 10.10.0.1 is the IP of the GX20   Once I switch to Google DNS I get this   As you can see on Upstream DNS, DNS is directed to the GX20 any other setting will forward the DNS Servers as set for each VLAN.   I have to use Static IP Addressing on my GX20 for the WAN-setup, the Primary and Secondary DNS are set to my ISPs DNS but I could have it set to any other DNS. depends on what you call useful?   You can block all outgoing internet traffic for a vlan, you can block vlan to vlan traffic or limit a vlan to access only certain parts of another vlan.   In my opinion, it is useful to have a level 3 firewall on a device. ... View more

By playing around on the web-app I found this     It can be found when you Edit an existing VLAN. This will allow you to set a DNS Service for each VLAN differently. I wasn't aware this was possible.     I assume Upstream DNS stands for the WAN DNS of the GX-device, the DNS has to be optained thru DHCP or manualy entered when you use a static connection on the WAN.   Then you have pre-sets for Google DNS and OpenDNS and you can set two Custom DNS for the VLAN. ... no idea what the recommended way is.   I usualy just pull the plug since there is no power-button on my device.   The reboot-option can be tried, even it didn't help solve connection problems I have had in the past.   When I shut down/restart my Network, I usualy turn off all devices and then start up the devices one by one with some waiting time in between. hello @briguy111    A modem is a device that connects one device to the internet. Usualy it doesn't come with a build in DHCP-Server. There's only one IP available on the LAN-port and the LAN-connection then needs to be set manualy.   A router connects one network to another network.   Most ISPs give you a Router with a build in Modem. The Router-part now offers DHCP to LAN-devices and makes sure, every device on the LAN can connect to the internet.   The Router/Modem I got from my ISP, is set to act in "passtrough-mode". Means: all traffic is sent to one single port on that device. In order to have an internet-connection, I had to set up the Security Gateway (in my case a GX20) manualy (with static connection) and also set the DNS manualy.   It sure would be nice to be able to set your preferred DNS manualy on DHCP-mode. Hello @Image_Acquire    I don't have an iPhone nor do I use GR-devices, but I have something similar going on with my wifi.   When I check my Network, I can see a device, usualy a Smartphone I don't know. That device was never connected to my wifi, first time I saw that device I was worried. But after some research I figured it is a device that has "Allways connect to WIFI when in range" enabled. So the device tries to connect to my wifi, the router notes the connection but due to the missing password there is no real connection going on.   I added MAC-blocking but it never solved the problem, the device was or is visible sometimes. To block devices on Meraki Go: Blocking Devices on Your Meraki Go Network - Cisco Meraki   I assume what you see is a device that did try to connect to your wifi but got blocked. You could ask someone you know with an iPhone to come by and see what happens (don't tell them the password).   If it shows the same result, you can be sure your wifi is secure.   Cheers ... I agree with you 100%.   Meraki team should fix the problems immediatly, better yesterday then tomorrow!   What I showed you, is a way to create individual VLAN on the GX20 with the limitations currently affecting the device. It is up to you, what you do with that information.   I didn't turn off DHCP on Default LAN. Hello @Midwest_IT    I can confirm it's not possible to Edit the Default Network.   I set the Default on my GX20 to be a Dummy-LAN, it's there but not in use.   Creating individual VLANs on each GX20 might solve your problem. I know it's just a work-around. It also prevents you from having each LAN called "Default", since we were never allowed to change the name of the default network.   Due to this ERROR: In order to save the settings on the VLAN you have to click on Cancel and then SAVE it from the Warning page. Editing a VLAN once saved is not possible, the only way to do it, is to Delete the VLAN and start from the beginning. ... View more

Adaptive Load Balancing is used when a Switch has no support for Link Aggregation. It can be used without the need of supporting hardware.   Most Switches in a lower price-range only offer Static Link Aggregation. Static Link Aggregation can cause problems on a Synology NAS when you need to use Virtual Switch on them. Hello @NuP    I am not sure if you can have that on Meraki Go.   Meraki Go offers a security feature when setting up a VLAN. This will block all traffic in and out from secured VLAN to all other VLANs.   @hidden0 said on another post: "In regards to your question about firewall rules in one direction between two VLANS: currently this is a feature request. Sure some weird behaviour.   Did you check if your AP truely runs on Bridge Mode? Information can be found here Meraki Go WiFi Access Point Features - Cisco Meraki   I don't have a GR12 but changing the mode back and forth helped me to solve other problems I've had with Meraki Go devices.   Is it just the NAS or are other devices like computer and printers also affected?   Not sure what NAS you are using. In case you have a QNAP did you try to find it with Qfinder pro? Or for Synology with Synology Assistant? It could be possible your NAS is blocking the IP 192.168.29.11 due to a wrong login-attempt.
