Hello friends, We are trying to build something with the APIs for a client who wants to have custom dashboards for some users on their team. They basically want to include tracking of electrical consumption on every network (Ethernet power details, power rate over time, and consumption on the devices per network) I've checked the API docs but couldn't find anything clear and so I was hoping to learn if anyone has had experience with pulling this type of info out through the APIs.

Hey guys, I've registered for the ECMS1 and I am hoping to complete it successfully. I just had a few confusions about the course... How difficult is it going to be? I have learnt networking plenty on my own time but I am no CCNA as the course recommends as a prereq. Is the course graded and/or is it even possible to fail? If so how we are we evaluated in the labs? If anyone has taken the course/knows about it, I would appreciate your advice 🙂

Hello, First of all, what are you trying to do with the APIs? For most things Postman is great and there's a few videos on YouTube, particularly on a channel called The IT way that can introduce you to Postman. The good thing about it is that you don't need to do coding which allows you to get right into the fun stuff. For more complicated things you'll need to write your own scripts. I recently wrote this article as a super basic introduction which might be helpful as you seem like a beginner. Gonna write another one soon which will have the next steps after this.

Hey Dieghito! Welcome to the community. Everything in life has it's pros and cons 🙂 Because Meraki is so simple and easy to work with it can sometimes be even more annoying when thing gets tough. Have you thought about using an external API tool to assist with troubleshooting if it is a really annoying problem?

Hey Stefan, I dont think you can get application health data from simply collecting the network syslogs. That's where the magic of Meraki Insight comes in! Hope this helps. How has your experience with Datadog been so far?

Don't have the answer specifically for outlook but I am very sure all of these calendar apps have a feature of syncing with other calendar apps. Dont think you can automate this but each user should be able to configure syncing of calendars manually on their individual device within the app.

I would avoid doing what you are trying to do here because there could be a risk of conflict as Meraki definitely isn't conscious of all the subnets within your organisation. The documentation doesn't seem to answer exactly what you are asking, but templates are generally rather rigid because of the binding so I wouldn't mess with them too much if you aren't pushing all the config. It's a great idea! I think it'd be smart to begin with basic hoodies and t shirts. We can add simple keychains, stickers, accessories etc. I personally believe the demand for Meraki onesies will be limited, but I'm definitely okay with being wrong on that one...

Manoj, I'm not sure I understand correctly but it seems like you are already getting the device statuses. Can I ask what your goal is in trying use an API which "gives the status of the individual device's status" ? As in what are you trying to do with this information which you can't do with the data you are already getting?
