I wish Meraki would let us have access to a CLI. choices is good. Or at least let us upload a config we can alter in text. Someone on the reddit forums said you can use python scripts to do things via the API. I might make learning python my goal for this year.

I miss the old days where I could just enter stuff into an excel sheet and then just copy paste an entire config into a terminal window. Any who, I've got about 5 switches with about 24 ports each that need to add a voice VLAN to each port. Is there a way to do it that doesn't involve me going into the details menu of each port?

This is crazy. All I want is to prevent the users from deleting the Meraki MDM app and preventing certain apps from being used on command. I got our CEO to sign up for the apple business and I've set up the DEP server. I don't think they will be happy when I tell my bosses we need to become an apple reseller in order to use the MDM to its fullest.

Hello World, So I've set up MDM for our organization to use on iOS. Our CEO wants to use MDM to be able to limit the time spent on apps like facebook and youtube. He also wants the ability to somehow shut off access to those apps on command. is this at all possible?

I'm looking into setting up MDM on our companies iOS devices. I looked into it last year and hit a wall when we didn't have a DUNS number. Now we have one and my boss wants me to ramp up this project again. But I can't rember why we needed the DUNS number to begin with. We are trying to talk the client into upgrading. In the meantime I want to set the channels to static so the channels stay put. However I seem to not be able to see how I set the AP to a static channel? how do I do this?

I've got a location with several MR16s. They are complaining the main SSID keeps going in and out. I looked at the event log and the MR16 has been changing channels a lot. When the channel change happens do clients have to reassociate ? Also when the AP is preforming an RF scan do clients get kicked?

I always thought IP helper was a general broadast forwarding protocol but its strickly for DHCP. Sonos just doesn't support control outside of its broadcast Domain. I was on the phone with a really awsome support guy who looked at the packet captures from my phone trying to connect to sonos. They are using a proprietary protocol that resembles UPnP and a combination of broadcast and multicast traffic. Sonos is just the worng product for what this client wants to do.

There are several instences where devices need to find each other across subnets. Cisco IOS has a feature called helper IP that can facilitate this. Does meraki have anything simila Basically I have a Sonos system on one subnet and I would like to give people on the guest network access to the sonos system. Sonos can't comunicate with anything outside it's broadcast domain.

But legitimate DNS request would also be dropped. The problem is there are bad URLs out there that serve adware and are used by products like this TV to send user data. At the same time there are good URLs that this TV may use. Just dropping all DNS traffic isn't a good solution. What this Pi-hole does is it keeps a list of the bad URLs and drops DNS request for those URLs while letting good ones go through. The added benefit is that it acts as a network wide adblocker. I guess this really is a feature meant for a stand alone DNS server and it's crazy of me to expect it from a router.

It's probably a feature request but it would be nice to be able to add curated black and white list files. So you'd have a publicly maintained txt file of bad domains that the meraki would then check periodically and update its own firewall. Not just rely on cisco's list.

I came across this Story on Business Insider about TVs selling private data. I then came across users who suggested Pi-Hole for blocking DNS request from these TVs. Is there a way to duplicate the functionality of Pi-Hole on the meraki platform?
