As for vMware, I don't think it's a problem to leave the server on, however, I've seen cases of applications that didn't behave well during a switch reboot in general (regardless of whether it's Meraki, Catalyst, HP, etc).

It really depends on your needs, there is no right or wrong. I particularly prefer to set static IP for Switches and obviously for MX, for APs I usually leave it to receive IP via DHCP, but I usually set the IP in DHCP via Mac mainly when I work with 802.1x. As for DNS, it depends on your company's policy, if using a public DNS is not a problem, go ahead, if so, use your internal DNS.

1. We were able to set a static using the regular client VPN setup, why is this not possible for the AnyConnect method? Because it is not possible to configure DHCP for the VPN client, you can only define mask and subnet.

1- You cannot set static IP on VPN. 2- Is the Anyconnect subnet has enabled on SD-WAN site to site VPN? 3 - The best way is changing the subnet from Anyconnect.

It's a OpenDNS IP, Z3 is trying to resolve some name using this DNS. Someone probably configured it.
