I'm looking to determine what applications are putting what load on the Meraki API for a given organization. I would like to execute a query like this: {{meraki_url}}/organizations/{{meraki_organization_id}}/apiRequests/overview/responseCodes/byInterval?userAgent=XXX ...but don't know how to format the XXX; and even if I did, where can I find a list of valid User Agent strings? Your help gratefully appreciated - thanks in advance!

@sungod- thanks for the reply, but in this case, I'm sure that the problem is as described. When I rotated my API tokens, the problem went away. So the problem was that account can get locked when API tokens are used to perform automations and those tokens are not unique to an organization. The only currently-available fix is to have separate Administrator accounts per organization, and that means having a HUGE pool of email addresses available. Meraki's Auth system is utterly broken. We minimally need to be able to have unlimited tokens and for lockouts to happen on tokens, not Administrators.

Background: We have an API key associated with Administrator "X" that is used to automate API calls over multiple organizations. It seems that one of these organizations has denied Administrator X access to their organization. No issue with that! However, because of this, the Administrator X is getting repeatedly locked out of the entire Meraki API, making that API key useless for the remaining organizations. Question 1: How do we find out from logs WHICH of the organizations has denied Administrator X access, so that we can configure our solution to no longer attempt API calls to that organization? Question 2: When will the API Token limit be raised, so that an Administrator can have any number of API tokens? Question 3: When will the lock-out apply to the token, instead of the Administrator? Question 4: For well-known API Tokens (such as those Read-only ones used for Sandboxes), do you agree that this represents a Denial of Service bug? All someone has to do to lock out that Administrator is to repeatedly try to use it for an organization id that they know it won't work for?

I've been hit with this today and use a password manager. Turns out that the only way to avoid complete lockout from Meraki is to always set up two separate accounts in your own name.

Is there a way to enumerate these permissions? In other cloud APIs, there are ways for "SuperAdmins" to query the full set of permissions assigned, for security reporting/auditing purposes.

Thanks @Ryan_Miles - that explains a lot! I was hoping that I could define: a single Webhook Template a single HTTP Server ...and assign these to all networks' alert settings. Instead, we have to create thousands of identical duplicates for each network. It seems odd, because the "out of the box" templates ARE centralised, (Microsoft Teams, for example). Surely it would make sense to allow the organization-level webhook templates to be used? This would involve no UI change other than extending the list dropdown. Similarly, it would make sense to permit users to use centralised HTTP Servers, to avoid having to re-enter credentials every time a network is added.

I can create, update and delete Organization-level (as opposed to Network-level) Webhook Payload Templates and corresponding HTTP Servers. Two critical issues: There seems to be no UI for these at the organization level, despite a links that claims to go to "Configure organization-wide alerts at Organization > Settings" on the Network's Alert Settings page. When assigning Http Servers to the network, no error is returned, but assignment fails and a subsequent fetch of a network's alert settings yields no HttpServers I am not receiving any alerts at the HTTP Server Is this functionality working AT ALL, or is the advice "use per-network PayloadTemplates and HttpServers for now"?

Updating the Network AlertSettings via the v1 API... Changing the "enabled" status of alert type "dhcpNoLeases" to true via the API has no effect. Edit: "customMotionAlertRecipients" is also affected and also cannot be enabled via the UI.

Hi Meraki devs. There are two different models for "downstreamPower", depending on whether you call latest or history endpoints. Please could this be fixed? Latest returns: { "ts": "2023-07-09T15:01:26Z", "metric": "downstreamPower", "downstreamPower": { "override": "disabled", "state": "enabled" } }, History returns: "downstreamPower": { "locked": false, "enabled": true } Personally, I prefer the "history" version, as I believe these to be boolean CIs.

@amirnetop if you're able to use C# (.NET) for your work, our free-to-use (MIT license), open source Meraki.Api nuget package has rate limit handling built in.
