Yes it should work. I have also MA-SFP-10GB-LRM between Cisco Cat 3850 distri-switch and Meraki MS225-48LP client-switch running.

Factory reset is better done like this: In the dashboard: remove the switch from the network. This prevents the switch to fetch the old config from the dashboard and then it´s not in an default config any more. Then push the reset button at least 10seconds. I also had MS120-8FP they were not blinking (the older MS225-8FP did). After this procedure put the switch into the network. This will create a new config for the switch.

Has the DHCP server the correct router address in the Scope Options? And if you have two DHCP-servers, is the standby server correctly replicated? I had issues when the primary DHCP- server didn´t replicate changes to the backup DHCP server.

Did you test to shut the ports for about 15minutes? On Cisco "classic" products the arp timeout is standard on 900seconds =15 minutes.

This is not working. This error message appeared: Authentication failed while testing on one of your APs. This means the RADIUS server was reached but your credentials were incorrect. The test was stopped to prevent this account from being locked out due to multiple failed attempts. Please try again with different username and/or password. I think it´s not a domain-account.

Hi, does anybody know what to fill in in the RADIUS-test (Username / Password)? Is it an Cisco ISE (RADIUS-server) account? (didn´t work). Is it an Active Directory account? (didn´t work). My RADIUS-server Cisco ISE is working well, everything does as it should be. But I want to know how this test is working. thanks

I had the same problem with using not original Meraki stacking cables. the switches went orange and weren´t reachable any more.

Yes it´s the switches address. On Meraki switches you can´t see the MAC-addresses of the ports. On "Cisco classic" switches you can see it by using this command: sh inter {interface name} regards

I have got Meraki Dashboard and Cisco Prime Infrastructure. Meraki Dashboard is easier to use. But it supports only Meraki devices.

You can have a look at the switch if the switchport where the accesspoint are connected went down and up. And: do you use PoE for the accesspoints? Did the switch reboot in this outage time? On Cisco classic you can see it in the log: (show logg).

Hi, our Apple users are buying new Apple Macs and the Macs can do 10Gig Copper LAN networking. The useres say that they need it for big files. Our client-switches are connected with 20Gig on aggregated links to the core-switches, this should not be an bottleneck, also our super fast data-stores are multi 10Gig connected. Because I can´t efford a 10 Gig switch (f.e. MS355-48X2 ) for clients I want to test it with an 10Gig copper SFP plugging in to the existing MS225-48LP client-switches. Cisco/Meraki doesn´t sell 10 Gig copper SFPs. But there are suppliers who say they have compatible SFPs 10G-T SFP+ for Cisco Switches. Does anybody has expereinces with that kind of 10Gig copper connections? regards

Use the reset button. Put the switch into a LAN with DHCP. After restarting the switch gets an DHCP and conncts to the dashboard. Then you can change the IP settings. When you are to far abroad to push the reset button try to put the uplink where the switch is connected to into an DHCP LAN. Typically the switch tries to connect to the dashboard and if this is not working the switch tries to get an DHCP.

I had the same issue with Apple computers. Dell/Windows is no problem but Apples are changing often their network speed. With fixed speed setting on the switch it´s working.

We have got ISE for our wireless. This is the SSID for Active-Directory Users, the ISE decides if the device has an certificate or not. If certificate is ok: user has internal access if no certificate: the user gets an Internet access only f.e. for his mobile devices, cell phones, iPads and so on. It´s a two factor check: Active-Directory account + certificate on the device. And a easy to use with only one SSID for the employees. Guests have an own SSID. Meraki SSID config: You need to set up the rules on the ISE correctly. And this is important: You need to put in every Accesspoint with it´s IP-Address as allowed network address:

I opened an case. Meraki sent me a new MR32. The blue light is well now on this accesspoint. I checked all my Accesspoints: All MR32 and MR52 are having the same issue. The blue light isn´t totally off as I believed but it´s dimmed so much that you almost can´t see it. Maybe it´s the age of the accesspoints. Our MR42 are newer and the blue light is o.k.
