No experience on such a deployment but if you’re at the threshold and hit technical issues then Meraki support will be limited. i believe you’ll be fine unless you start deploying out more MX’s to the deployment and take the design way over its thresholds.

Hi there, 1. you’re correct in your understanding in that the MX initially has a single IP Subnet and therefore a single DHCP scope. For more you’ll need to create multiple VLANs and therefore Trunk these to the downstream switch. Why would you have to create a DHCP server and DNS on the network? You can create the DHCP scopes on the MX and also utilise the upstream DNS.

Hi @SobyKuruvilla I'm not sure if you can change one of those ports to a WAN port. I'll let another comment there. However, for a Port-channel to work the media types need to be the same. You can't bundle a fibre port with a copper port.

Surely there isn't much to troubleshoot on the Auto VPN side...? A few clicks and you're done 🙂 What about dashboard best practice when bringing up a new site i.e changing Timezones, Naming the site, setting Spanning Tree Root etc etc.?

We have a number of customers using this setup. MX100’s as the concentrator and a mixed bag of AP’s deployed at various employees houses (MR33’s, 42’s).

@PhilipDAth I’ve been on demos where the cameras have been in SE’s homes and the engineer has built a full Lego city and put the camera above or in to demo it’s capabilities. This is the dream.

I’d go with building from the ground up as suggested above. Perfect time to tidy up the configuration. Guaranteed they’ll be ports in the wrong VLAN currently and unnecessary config on those ports. we generally audit what’s in place, note down ports which haven’t been used for 6-12 months (we can shut those down), document and then build the new stacks as they’re deployed.

Morning All Have many carried out this integration as I’m trying to figure out the wherefores and whys? If you’ve already deployed Umbrella to your endpoints why would you then look to integrate your Meraki network with Umbrella? Which Umbrella licensing would you need to integrate as it’s done via API, is Investigate required? Does the Meraki dashboard display Umbrella statistics? How far can you go with the deployment, full AD integration on the Meraki side so you’ll get reports that employee Dave on his laptop has had Malware blocked and this will report into a single Meraki dashboard?
