Using Meraki GR12 AP's with other brand routers in large home (3500sq')

I just switched to Meraki GR12 AP's in my home as a recommendation from a friend. I bought the Meraki RX50 router/firewall, but it throttles my speeds at 500MB. I work from home and need to have my full Gigabit speeds. What brand/type router/firewall is recommended or will work with my GR12's? I don't want to change out the entire system.

Thank you!!

If you're referring to the Meraki Go Indoor WiFi 6 AP (GR12) you may want to post in the specific Meraki Go Community: https://community.meraki.com/t5/Meraki-Go-Community/ct-p/go

I am curious if you have recommendations for a Cisco router/firewall for my home, to keep it all in the "family" if you will.

Hi @ddresen the RX series like most Cisco SMB products are a good idea but certainly come with their limitations.

Personally, I’ve used a Meraki MX at home for years with no issues.

@DarrenOC Which Meraki MX system do you use? I need to take advantage of the Gig ISP I subscribe to.

Hi @ddresen , I’m using an MX68 but I don’t have a 1Gbps connection.

in your case you’re looking at the MX75 and above:

Do you by any chance work for a Cisco Partner?  If so, make use of their NFR programme.

I also second the MX75 assuming it's within budget.

One thing to remember is that as opposed the Meraki Go, standard Meraki devices require a license which you need to continue renewing in order to use the equipment

Yeah, it's a home network, and even though I work from home, not interested in paying Cisco for service. I may pull the entire HW config out and go with a good home mesh.

It would be GR12 right? This is the Meraki GO line, there is a specific community for these products.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.

Please, if this post was useful, leave your kudos and mark it as solved.
