Query On Firmware Upgrade Process | MR 52 Model | Possible Single Device Upgrade ?

Hi Meraki Team, I'm Sam, one of your clients, and would like to know if there is a possibility/ an option to push the Firmware upgrade for single AP from the network group.
Recently, we have got the suggestion from Meraki dashboard saying to update from 30.7.1 <—> 31.1.7.1, Since the site we got an upgrade suggestion is critical and cannot take chance to push the complete devices. If there is any option to push the firmware upgrade to single AP and test the status. Please suggest.

You could also try ask meraki support to upgrade just one AP

The other option would be to move the AP to a cloned network. And upgrade that network.

I dont think you need to update.it looks like you already running latest possible firmware (30.7.1) for that AP

"Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2 MRs support - This version and subsequent MR 31.x.x are only supported on 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) and newer MR models. 802.11ac Wave 2 and older products will upgrade to the backup version (MR 30.7.1) if they are in networks configured for MR 31.x.x versions, and thus, the new features will not be available. The bug fixes listed below will also not apply to Wi-Fi 5 Wave 2 and older MRs. (https://documentation.meraki.com/MR/Other_Topics/Cisco_Meraki_MR_Firmware_Restrictions_Overview_and_...) "

Correct, MR52 is limited to MR 30.X branch -

We have another MR 30.X release upcoming with critical fixes for Wave 2 APs. What issues are you trying to resolve?

If you want this functionality, then create a new pilot network.  Put a test AP into it (I would buy an additional AP to use for testing so as not to disturb the production network).  Perform the firmware upgrade.  Conduct user acceptance testing.  If all goes well, deploy the firmware upgrade to the main production network.

But, in any case, MR52 cannot be upgraded to MR 31.X. Only Wi-Fi 6 and newer APs can be upgraded to MR 31.X.
