High/Low Priority SSIDs

High/Low Priority SSIDs

Our Cafe space has two MR42 and three MR32.  We have an SSID for our food service vendor's Square POS system (iOS devices).  We have a second SSID to provide free Wi-Fi to a maximum of 300 guests.  What techniques can we use to make sure the POS devices stay connected even when there are many end users doing causal browsing.

Thank you,

Ira

-make one radio for guest(2.4?) and one radio for production(5).

-limit traffic rate on your  guest network.

@Ira rate limiting is the first step. secondly how big is your cafe as 300 guests is a lot and with only 5 AP's it might struggle. I would either reduce the number of guest clients you can have or add in more access points.

The other way you could do this is have the three MR33 solely for hosting the guest wifi and use the MR42's for your production network.
