CW 9166I and 9176 Model mounting distance

Hi

I need a suggestion on how to mount AP distances in a low-density area.

How many square feet will cover the distance of one AP?

Note: our building has an entirely glass panel and is getting strong signals from the neighbors,

The exact distance a signal will cover is determined by environmental factors from the building design to the end devices and their capabilities. 2.4Ghz will go further than 5, a Laptop may have a better wifi adapter than a roku, etc.  A survey will be the most accurate way of seeing what is possible in your facility.

If you are getting strong WiFi signals from neighbours, your APs should run at a lower power so everyone isn't trying to shout over the top of each other.  Therefore the coverage will likely be less than if you were in the middle of a field.

Typically, an access point can cover between 1,500 and 2,500 square feet indoors, but this can vary depending on the environment and obstacles.

My suggestion is to conduct a site survey to validate before proceeding with the installation.

I am not a Cisco Meraki employee. My suggestions are based on documentation of Meraki best practices and day-to-day experience.
