Any limitations on network bandwidth when using MR alone?
Hello,
I am interested in Meraki and have just purchased the MR46 and MR Enterprise License.to begin with and am testing it.
I did not purchase the Meraki MS or MX.
Are there any limitations on network bandwidth when using MR alone?
I can't select Unlimited on the Traffic shaping slider.
The Traffic shaping slider allows a maximum selection of "100.0 Mbps" and I cannot select "Unlimited".
Setting the "shape traffic" setting to "Don't shape traffic on this SSID" has no effect.
In either case, When I look at Wireless -> SSID, it looks like the "Bandwidth limit" is limited to 100.0 Mbps.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Support contacted me.
This seems to be a bug and is actually limited to 100Mbps.
Setting the value to 0 and saving will make it unlimited.
It seems to be 100Mbps, but it is unlimited.
This seems to be currently being improved.

There's no direct limitations from using a Meraki access point with other switches.
I'm not sure why 100mbps is showing as the maximum. My only guess is if the LAN uplink for the AP has negotiated to 100mbps instead of 1Gbps.

The dashboard display has been fixed from 100 Mbps to unlimited. The problem seems to have been resolved.

@Brash Thanks for the reply.
The MR46 is connected to a 2.5GbE unmanaged switch with a link up of 2500Mbit.
When creating a new SSID, the "Bandwidth limit" is created with unlimited and exceeds 100M bps, so it is unlikely to be related to uplink negotiation.
Even with the new SSID, the slider is set to a maximum of 100 Mbps, so if you change any settings in "Firewall and traffic shaping" and save them, 100M bps will be applied.

I see the same limit on the shaping page. This must be a gui bug. For now press on details behind the slider, and put in manually 2097151

You can use 0 / 0 for unlimited but now you have to do this everytime when you save the page or it will put it back to 100Mbps.

Thank you for one solution.
By setting all to 0 and saving, unlimited was set.
Using iperf3, I was able to confirm that the speed exceeded 100Mbps.
Save the above settings and check under Wireless -> Configure -> SSIDs:

It's just a GUI bug.
I believe that the slider on 100 Mbps still means unlimited due to this:
You can clearly see if you add a shaping rule that the obey category says Unlimited.
I guess leaving the slider at max that it will be at Unlimited. You may want to test it using iPerf server on a wired client and then using iPerf client on a wireless client in that network.

It does apply if you save the page, and shows up at ssid overview.

That is a bug in the GUI at the moment. Give it a couple of days and it will probably be fixed.

As stated this is a GUI bug, I have set mine to 0/0 and although the GUI states limited to 100 mb/s, a speed test confirms I get above 100 mb/s. My upload from my ISP is 100 mb/s but download is 1 GB/s

All,
Thank you for all the advice and comments.
Also, thank you for the communication with support.
I just checked the GUI and saw that it is now possible to select unlimited using the slider.
