Will Cisco SFP-10G-T-X SFP module work in a Meraki - MS425-16?
Any compatibility issues with these two or is there a better option for 10GB ethernet on Meraki - MS425-16?
Solved! Go to solution.
If you want to take it a step further - I see that the SAN also has a 40Gbe network card option, and the MS425 has dual 40Gbe ports.
Take a look at this.
There is no SFP-10G-T-X SF available, so probably it will not work.
I don't see a 10GBaseT in that chart, need 10GB Ethernet RJ-45 module for that switch. I know some Cisco modules work in Meraki, did not see a Meraki option for 10GBaseT RJ-45 SFP
If its within 3m you could consider the MA-CBL-TA-3M
Thanks ww, but the other side is connecting directly to Synology FS3410 - 10GbE RJ-45 ports
Hi @jason10
There is the Cisco SFP-10G-T-X but you'll get hit with the "not supported on Meraki". States 10Gbps upto 30M.
Cisco 10GBASE SFP+ Modules Data Sheet - Cisco
Many of us on here and used non branded SFP+ modules from other vendors with no issue. Risk vs Reward....
Some of these work, but you'll just have to take a punt. It won't be supported if you have issues.
I note that the model SAN listed supports SFP+ expansion cards. You could use something like:
https://www.synology.com/en-global/products/E10G21-F2
and then use a TwinAx cable (such as MA-CBL-TA-3M( between the NAS and the MS425, and everything would be fully supported.
If you want to take it a step further - I see that the SAN also has a 40Gbe network card option, and the MS425 has dual 40Gbe ports.
Good spot @PhilipDAth
Thanks everyone for your help, I really appreciate it!!!!!
