Kind of a big deal

Missing "ease of use" features on CS switches versus MS switches - are they in development ?

Looking at the CS switches, we are currently missing some "ease of use" features that are currently on the MS switches.

Do anyone know if these are in development ? and what is the expected ETA ?

Im here specifically thinking about features like - SecurePort and Switch Port Profiles.

Both features that are really useful, and "customer friendly".

Thanks

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for mentioning the ease of use features which you'd like to see implemented on the Catalyst switch (CS) platform. However, at this time, no further information is available regarding development of SecurePort or Switch Port Profiles on the CS platform.

SecurePort is currently supported on Catalyst wireless CW916x access points and the MS switch and MR access point models found in the SecurePort KB article here.

Switch Port Profiles are currently supported on the the MS120, MS125, MS130, MS130R, MS210, MS225, MS250, MS350, MS355, MS410, MS425 and MS450. * Please feel free to keep a watch on the Switch Port Profiles KB article regarding updates on supported models, as the MS130 and MS130R were recently added to the list.

Though these features are not currently supported on the CS platform, I highly encourage you to submit a request directly to the Meraki development team for future considerations. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and can be submitted via the “Give your feedback” button which is located at the bottom right corner of each dashboard page.

Best,
Feli
