Store camera recordings in private local server

Hi,

we purchased cameras for a customer but the customer would like to save a copy of the recordings to external server to keep the records longer than 90 days.

is there anyway we can store that in external server? other than MV Cloud Archive.

someone mentioned to me that it can be done using RTLS protocol, I searched about it but couldn't find any useful info.

@HusseinLTD You can export the video clips for sure

https://documentation.meraki.com/MV/Processing_Video/Sharing_Video

Or you can take Meraki Cloud Achieve as well.  In standard operations, streaming video is not stored in the cloud, but exported video clips are stored in the Meraki cloud ecosystem for a year. Video clips are exported as MP4 encoded with H.264

Thanks everyone,

can you recommend RTSP software that I can use with Meraki?

I'd actually recommend the customer looks at using Meraki Cloud Archive, if they need to store their footage for longer.   With RTSP, you lose all the ease-of-use from having motion detection, people/vehicle counting detail / metadata available through the dashboard.   If you simply store video, in an external system, how easy is it to find the specific clips you need?   You're back to to the old days of watching hours of footage...

Cloud Archive provides all the Meraki MV ease-of-use, but with footage securely stored in the cloud.
