Existing camera migration

We have several clients that utilize the Eagle Eye IP Camera system, we would like to offer a migration to Meraki but are unsure what would need replacement or how the features at Meraki compare to that of Eagle Eye. The biggest hurdle would be the cameras themselves, does the Meraki system work with other cameras such as HIK?

Kind of a big deal

The Meraki system is basically the cameras, and so it doesn’t work with other cameras. The Meraki camera system doesn’t use a separate DVR or control station, it comprises the cameras and the Meraki Dashboard. All the smarts and primary storage are contained within the cameras.

Its a reasonably unique solution and very different to your traditional camera solutions.

One thing you can probably use is the PoE cable you already ran to the EE cameras... remove the EE camera, mount the Meraki camera, and connect the PoE cable.

What features are they lacking or wanting to improve from EE? We can then offer how Meraki MV addresses those needs/pain points.

(We replaced a traditional NVR IP camera system with Meraki MV in 2019, 102 cameras)
